January 13 happenings

January was a fun-filled month for our little troop!  Disneyland aside, we had a great time having some celebrations with the boys at school.  Nathan had his Beatrix Potter celebration.. complete with a fancy bunny cake.
The boys also participated in their annual Dance Festival.  Nathan was the cutest little chicken dancer you ever saw, and Logan did a great job at the May Pole!
We were also able to celebrate Nathan's half birthday in Ms. Hobb's class.  He enjoyed sharing laffy taffy's with everyone, and being spotlighted by his teacher.

Disneyland 2013

We had a blast taking the boys to Disneyland this year.  We surprised them Christmas morning with their tickets which was so fun!  Grandma Thomas gave them a wallet with their own spending money.  We were able to go with Megan & Tyler, and Kendrick & Tamara and their kids.  The boys had a ball.  Logan remembered a few things from our trip a few years ago, but Nathan didn't remember any of it.  The boys did great on the drive, and with Dramamine in their systems they didn't even get car sick.  Nathan purchased his first souvenier in Beaver at the Cache Valley Cheese Store....a stuffed bumble bee.  He was quite thrilled he had his own money to spend!
We were there during the last few days of the Christmas celebration, so we got to see their Christmas parade, and the Haunted Mansion was decorated for Christmas, as well as It's a Small World.  The boys LOVED Cars Land, and also liked watching World of Color and Fantasia.  Nathan was chosen as a Jedi at the Star Wars presentation.  We were also able to visit Hunington Beach, and we drove by the Newport Beach Temple.  The boys were exhausted each night, and it got pretty cold at night as well...even with our jackets.

First Day of School

We were all excited to start school this year.  Nathan was especially excited to start at American Heritage.  However, he reminds me weekly that he is supposed to be in 1st grade!  Nathan will be attending Ms. Hobb's Kindergarten class, and Logan will be in Mrs. Taylor's 3rd grade class.

COLORADO

In August we took the boys on their first "Primerica" trip.
Image
Our first stop on our Colorado trip was Moab.  Just outside of Moab is a little trail that will take you to some real dinosaur tracks.  We were hot, we were sweaty, and Logan had only thrown up twice, but we made the little hike to the tracks.
Image
The next day we visited Mesa Verde.  Logan wasn't thrilled about more hiking, but he was a trooper!

The boys were blown away by the Broadmoor Resort.

Mom and the boys visited Colorado Springs Moutainside Zoo where we got to hand-feed the giraffes.

The boys also got to feed the chickens.  What mama doesn't love the sight of her young-uns feeding some chicks?

The Broadmoor's pool was spectacular...to say the least.  There was tons of shallow pool for the boys to play in, and a pretty fabulous waterslide that Logan fell in love with!
