Tonight we decided to take the boys to Temple Square to see the lights. What better way to travel then on TRAX. The boys loved it....they of course thought we were riding a train! Logan ran all over Temple Square saying, "ooohhh...look at those lights", and "ooohhhh....look at that!" I think they had a great time!

Don't Break The Sheep!

Image
I think all mothers have that hidden fear that their child will break something in a store that will cause them to have to whip out their credit card. Well....today was our day. Adam and I decided to take the boys to Deseret Book (they love the book store!) No sooner could we approach the first Christmas display table, then Logan had already dropped a porcelin nativity piece. (Why they have all their nativities at a childs eye level for display is a mystery to me!)

I kept thinking to myself..."please don't let this be expensive....please don't let this be expensive." So....the manager tells us he'll give us 50% off to purchase the set. Oh no...we can't just pay for the one piece....cause it's a set! So...now we have a weird-looking porcelin nativity set that we didn't want in the first place.....and it's missing a sheep!....I guess the sheep is not a crucial piece anyway. After buying an $80 nativity set...I just wish it was cute! I told Adam I would save it and give it to Logan when he gets older! Needless to say the whole way home we talked about why mommy tells us not to touch things in the store....."so we don't break the sheep!"

Family Photos

Image

Image We had my friend Skye take our pictures back in October, and she did an amazing job! There are too many to add, so i just picked a couple. She has such a talent at photographing children!

Turkey Day!

Image Ok...so I've tried twice now to upload some pictures from our wonderful Turkey Day. I am not having much luck, so I am sticking to these two photos. This one I found on my sisters memory card and thought it was actually cute...it was taken in July at Kendrick's daughters blessing.

Each year we have a tradition where we receive new pajamas on Christmas Eve. Since Grandma Thomas is going to be on a cruise on Christmas (how rude!)...we had to do it early this year. This is Logan & Nathan with their cousins Jaron, Karlee, and Lyndee(Kendrick's cute kids!)

They had a ball in their new pj's!

The kids had so much fun playing with their cousins Thanksgiving weekend. We even had an extended family reunion and got to see Santa! I still don't think Logan understands the whole "sit on this guys lap and you get some candy" bit, but he went for it this year and was pleased with his goodie bag.
We are excited for the holidays, and even finished up our shopping last night! Yes...I am an early shopper....I can't stand going to the store during the holidays! I have actually sworn off Walmart for the next two months! I thought Christmas was fun as a kid, but it's even better being a parent!

Silly Kids

Children can be so funny sometimes! I think it is these moments that help me keep my sanity....and I only have 2!!:)
I am a bit overindulgent when it comes to taking my boys pictures, but I couldn't resist these!
ImageI use this walker in my bedroom for Nathan when I need to get in the shower. It keeps him in one place for a few minutes. Logan has never showed interest in it, but the other night he comes strolling down the hall....in his underwear no less! What a character!
Image
Nathan thought it was so much fun pushing Logan around in his walker!
Image
Nathan's new ability to pull himself up to things poses a new threat for the bathtub! Of course his favorite place to stand up is the most dangerous in the house!!
He was growling and pulling all sorts of face, so I couldn't resist taking his picture!

A really long day!

So today was one of those days when I take a step back and think "wow...I'm not so sure I can do this mom thing!" Somehow, both the boys ended up being sick today! On Saturday I noticed Logan had what I thought was a canker on his tongue. It has gotten progressively worse, and last night he started acting really lethargic....which is unusual for him. So I went to bed decided that we would take him to the Dr. So Nathan wakes up puking all over the place! I have been thrown up on so many times today that I have lost count! He puked as soon as I put him in the car to go the Dr. He puked on the way home from the Dr. Then a few more times later in the day.....curdled milk.....yuckie! Naturally I have washed his "blankie" lots today. And after the 6th or 7th puking session I decided to stop putting clean clothes on him and just dress him in a onsie....hope he doesn't get cold tonight!

It turns out that Logan has an ear infection, and some kind of virus on his tongue. So now we get to try to shove 3 different kinds of meds down him. This kid has such a gag reflux, that he can make himself throw up just by looking at the medicine bottle! Nathan apparantly has some stomach bug...(Isn't that why we got flu shots two weeks ago?...go figure). Anyway...both boys are asleep right now, and all is peaceful.

The Dr. told me to mix some concoction of Maalox and Benedryl to give Logan for his tongue. Apparantly it makes some kind of "sticky benedryl" solution that will coat his tongue and help it to feel better. I'm a little skeptical, but....Dr.'s Orders!

Nothing makes my heart break more than when I see my kids hurting, and I can't make them feel better! It's awful!

Anway...enough complaining!

Here are some pictures I took of the boys in their new outfits grandma got them....except Nathan's sweater wouldn't fit over his head!...so he's just in a tie...but still adorable!

This is what Logan did when I told him we were going to take a picture of him with Nathan!

Potty Prize!

Image
While trying to potty train Logan we have instigated a "sticker chart." For every chart that is filled he gets a prize. For his second prize he wanted to go to the Dinosaur Museum at Thanksgiving Point. He always has a blast there, even if it is a whopping $26 for the four of us!
Adam was pleased with Logan's second prize choice. His first prize was the Candy Land Castle Game....much to Adam's objection. LOL
Third prize choice: Hungry Hippo Game!
Luckily we only have 1 sticker chart left.....this has become an expensive venture. But well worth it if we don't have to change his diapers!
My question is: At what point do we stop giving smarties and prizes for going to the potty?!
Since we still put pull-ups on to leave the house and at night...I think we have a ways to go!
Adam says no prizes past age 12!!! :)

Image

Our cute little "Nay Nay".....he might curse us later for that nick name!:)

Image
I thought this was a little creepy...are sharks really that big?! Adam thinks he resembles "Bruce" from Finding Nemo!

Image
There are a lot of hands on activities for the kids at the museum, including this Dino to climb on!

Too Cute To Spook!

Image Image

"We're The Doodlebops!"
It's the new "Rooney Doodle" from "The Doodlebops"
For those of you who don't know what that is...it is a Disney Show...sort of like "The Wiggles"

Logan is a very difficult child to dress for Halloween....he doesn't have favorite super heroes or characters, and doesn't like dressing up. He was into the Doodlebops at the time I was looking for Halloween costumes, so that is what he got to dress up as.

Image

I just loved this giraffe costume ...so naturally Nathan didn't have a choice! Isn't he adorable! He'll probably be mad at me when he's older for dressing him up like this, but oh well.
We had a fun Halloween. I tried to provide fun things for the boys all week. We painted pumpkins, made sugar cookies, carved pumpkins, and Logan even had a Halloween party at pre-school. We visited Great-Grandma Parker, and aunt Megan at work! Grandma Thomas also spent some of the day with us. We went trick-or-treating in our neighborhood, and the boys had fun. Logan really got the hang of it and would say "Trick-or-Treat", "Thank you", and "Happy Halloween" at every door! Nathan just loved riding in the wagon and holding his pumpkin bucket!
Image
Logan is soooo good and doing puzzles...he amazes me!
Image Image
This is him doing his 100 piece animal puzzle...did I mention he is good at puzzles!?
This was at 6:30 am mind you! Sorry he's in his undies.....(we're working on potty training!)

Make it cute!

Since I'm new at this I am asking for help on how to make my own blogging template. Does anyone know. I have seen that some of you have cute scrapbook-looking backgrounds. I need help! How do I do that?

October 23

Ok...so I'm not the best at blogging. I guess sometimes is better than never...right? Anyway...things have calmed down this evening, with the boys being asleep and all. We've been busy the last couple of months. Logan is really enjoying pre-school, and wants to go every day. We recently took a field trip to Pumpkin Land, and he had a ball.

ImageImage

He is so smart and amazes me daily at how fast he learns things. He is a wiz at puzzles! A while ago we got him one of those giant floor puzzles. It is of wild animals (his favorite) and is 100 pieces. Well...he mastered it! He can do it all by himself! He is also amazing at video games and the computer....loves it! We watched a new signing time the other day, and he already has all the signs learned. The funny thing is when Nathan puts his hands up pretending to do it too! Nathan seems to get more personality every day. He cries for cookies, and knows just what he wants!
He is crawling everywhere!!! He has learned how to crawl up the stairs now, but doesn't like the idea of going down backwards...so we're still working on that one! He loves to go outside. He loves balloons, doggies, and his daddy! He also recenlty gained a love for pumpkins! As you can see he wants to be just like his big brother!

I am getting excited for the holiday's, and have picked up my mom's habit of shopping early! We are trying to get Logan excited for Halloween...seeing that he hates dressing up and doesn't understand the whole holiday anyway. He is going to be Rooney Doodle from "The Doodlebops!" Not MY first choice, but I figure since he has to wear it I'll let him be what he wants. I did stand my ground on no for Dora! Nathan is going to be a giraffe! I'm hoping it doesn't snow on Halloween.
Adam continues to stay busy with our business and his church calling. I just try to keep the boys from running amuk! They are a blast, and I enjoy being able to stay home with them. I am lucky to have Adam around as much as I do...the boys love it when he is home!

Ok...so I'm figuring out how to add photos now...

These were taken on Logan's first day of pre-school. He goes to a neighbors house up the street. It is Tues/Thurs for 2 hours. There are 6 little kids in his class....mostly kids from the neighborhood. He has had a rough time these first few days, but today when I dropped him off he actually didn't cry...just whimpered a little bit. He tells us all about what he's learImagening, but most of it we don't understand! He seems to really enjoy it! I'm really excited for him to have something else to do to break up his day a little bit.

Nathan and I are able to spend some quality time together while Logan is at school. The first few days he just napped, so I was able to get some things done around the house. The other day I actually got the whole entire bathroom cleaned all at once! It was great!

Image
Nathan just wants to do everything Logan does! He still hasn't quite figured out the crawling thing, but can get anywhere he wants to go by rolling. Of course he wants to get into all of Logan's toys! Logan is going to have his hands full pretty soon....or is that Mom is going to have her hands full?!!!

And so it begins!

And so we begin our attempts in the blogging world. This is new to me, so please be patient as I learn. I should really let Adam handle this as he is the computer guru. I, like everyone else in the blogging world, thought this would be a fun way to keep everyong up-to-date on the happenings of our cute little family. It will also be a good way for me to keep a sort of "journal" as I am terrible at doing it the old fashion way. So...enjoy!
