Updates from the Miners

This boy is all over the house now.  Now that Gavin has learned to army crawl, he cannot be stopped.  Sure he took his sweet time but it was just fine by me!  Gone are the days when I could make a sandwich and he would be in the same spot when I came back.  Oh, and remember that tooth spotting I posted about in January?  Yeah, it's still there and about the same size.  He hits the 10 month mark next week.  I know so many mothers say it but time just flies by too fast.

After a couple days, his ankle bruised and turned lovely shades of purple and blue.  Sean is a fast healer though and walking around on it just fine.  He is loving the March Madness activity this month and doing pretty well in his brackets so far.  Sean was inspired today when he discovered that Real Salt Lake had a free pre-season game today.  (RSL is the local Major League Soccer club).  He had a blast and so did the rest of the family.

As for me, I am headed back to Florida next week!  I am so very excited.  In every stage of life, I have had a best friend named Kristen.  Weird, but I love it!  My childhood best friend Kristen is getting married next week and I cannot wait to see her in that beautiful, white gown.  Gavin and I are the only ones making this trip and we are both so excited to see Grandpa Forbes!  Then when we get back from the sunshine state, we will get to see my adult best friend Kristen and her family.  There are certainly good times going to be had!

Swingin' at the Park

Once the weather turned even into the 50s, I had to get out of the house.  At the end of February, the Steiner ladies, Gavin and I journeyed for a walk down to the park.  I loved these pictures, but I have just been slow to post them.  Gavin sure does love to smile.  And he loves the swings.  And he loves the twins- he just has not decided which one is his favorite.

Gavin's Latest

Image
This is not how we dressed him for bed, but this is how we found in this morning.  It is a new style.  You should try it.

And apparently, this is so comfortable that he can nap this way.  You can barely see at this angle but his other arm has the same extension.

Ode to Miss Floyd

Image
(The picture is deceiving for she is not really that fat.)

I learned tonight from my father that Miss Floyd has a hurt, hind paw.  I wonder if she sprained her ankle in church basketball this morning like my husband did?

Some history on Miss Floyd: During hurricanes evacuations, pets are often the last thing people think about.  Thus my father and I found this beautiful kitten (who turns 10 years old this year!) wandering his neighborhood after hurricane Floyd.  We fed the sweet thing and she became instantly attached.  We named her Floyd since we thought it was a male.  Then at the vets, we learned he was really a she.  She quickly became Miss Floyd.

First Five People

The first five people to respond to this post will get something made by me!  My choice, for you.  This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:

1. I make no guarantees that you will like what I make.  But I promise to try and make it cute.
2. What I create will be just for you.
3. It will be done this year.  That gives me plenty of time to work, so please be patient.
4. You have no clue what it's going to be.
5. I reserve the right to do something extremely strange/fun/silly.

The catch?  Oh, the catch is that you must repost this on your blog and offer the same to the first 5 people who do the same on your blog.  Last but not least, be sure to post a picture of what you get when it comes in the mail!

**Kristen here, I have been feeling the craft bug lately, so I was excited to see this blog chain on a friend's blog.  Join in since I think it will be fun!**

Bath Time

With a bath full of toys, Gavin chooses to play with the drain stopper.
Go figure.
