For the long holiday weekend, the boys and I decided last minute to travel south with my mother to visit her brother and his family. Sean, not having President's Day off, needed to work for we had some big trips already planned later in February and March. My uncle lives in Gulfport, Mississippi just one hour east of New Orleans, Louisiana. It was so good to see Uncle Rick and have my boys meet their Great Uncle and my cousin for the first time. For the last time Sean and I saw these Mississippi folks, Gavin was in m belly. The boys quickly came to love Uncle Rick as much as I do. Logan would often seek out the recliner at nights just to sit with him in the big chair.
The boys each got their turn riding around the community on Uncle Rick's motorcycle.

The weather was surprisingly cool, but putting our toes in the sand was a must even if it was only 50 degrees out and windy.
One day we headed west to New Orleans to meet up with our cousin Triston for lunch. She is the Assistant Executive Director for the CBS News Channel in New Orleans, so she gave us a special behind-the-scenes tour of the station. It was quite impressive. Below on the left, the boys stood in front of the green screen showcasing the weather. Below on the right, the boys got to push any button in the control room except the three master buttons. And not having comprehended much of the tour, the boys' favorite part was the CBS footballs they received left over from the Super Bowl just weeks before.
After lunch and the most expensive, gourumet hot dogs we have ever eaten, my mother and I bid farewell to Triston (whom I neglected to get a picture of sadly). We then headed to the French Quarter further Downtown and rode the Trolley around much to the delight of the boys.
We grabbed a quick treat at Cafe Du Monde including hot chocolate and their world famous warm beignets. We did some people watching and French Market shopping and then called it a day.
