Four-Wheel Drive (4WD or 4×4) is a four-wheeled vehicle with a drive train that allows all four wheels to receive power from the engine simultaneously. The first digit in 4×4 is normally the total number of wheels, and the second denotes the number of powered wheels. ie a 4×2 means a four-wheel vehicle that transmits engine power to only two wheels.
