SPDY (pronounced: SPeeDY) is an open networking protocol whose goal is to speed up the web. It was initially developed at Google for transporting web content. SPDY aims to decrease page load times by fixing a number of flaws present in HTTP 1.1, with particular goals of reducing web page load latency and improving web security.
