To us, impact is more than a metric.

Each year we publish our Impact Report, to show the progress of our portfolio companies as they take on some of the most important challenges of our time.

How we measure Impact

$\LARGE M_c = \sum_{x} \left( \frac{R_x}{T_x} \cdot w_x \right)$

$M_c$ = Company Impact Multiple | $x$ = Portfolio Impact Multiple | $R$ = Impact realised | $T$ = Impact target

$\LARGE M_p = \sum_{c} \frac{M_c \cdot I_c}{I_p}$

$w$ = weight | $M_p$ = Portfolio Impact Multiple | $I_c$ = Total Investment Company | $I_p$ = Total Investment Portfolio (fund)

At Ananda, we see ‘doing good’ as a moral imperative. To demonstrate this, we consistently track and evaluate key impact metrics.

At the beginning of the investment period, we work together with founders to define a unique set of impact KPIs and targets that are closely linked to each company business model. If the business grows, the impact grows. This ensures there is no trade-off between impact and profitability – because true impact has to be built into a company’s DNA.

Each of our portfolio companies has a unique mission and solution to tackle the world biggest challenges at scale. We visualise the Impact by way of ‘impact multiples’.

We are an SFDR Article 9 fund

At Ananda, we believe the SFDR is a step in the right direction to enhance transparency and promote sustainable investments.
We have always been an impact fund, which we consider to be a particularly rigorous subcategory of a sustainable investment objective. Therefore, we are an Article 9 fund.

Our efforts go beyond compliance; we strive to make a positive impact on the environment and society through all of our investments.

Our Impact Carry Model

We are as mission-driven as our founders. We make their impact targets our own. We directly link our carried interest (the amount of money we take after returns to investors) not only to financial goals, but to quantifiable impact achievements of the start-up.

This guarantees that there is no trade-off between revenue and impact. The formula is simple: more revenue equals more impact.
