Doing better today. I was able to sleep a little more last night. I really need to learn to stop fucking doomscrolling for my own good, especially when I'm surrounded by creative projects that need to be worked on.

The good news is, I'm at least drawing a little again. Hopefully I'll be able to post something TieJen-related here soon. I was also able to go to an estate sale and get a Pyrex container for cheap. Between this and an $80 instant pot that i got for $20, I have learned that old dead people hoard a lot of good kitchenware. I was even able to get a cute fancy shirt for 3 bucks and get the weird sauce stains out of the sleeve.

Admittedly, my mom might be why I am one of Those People who are super annoying about voting in every general and midterm elections. She had to go through the naturalization process to become a US citizen, and she made sure to tell me that I should appreciate having the right to vote. When she found out that my brother didn't vote for a president in 2020, she gave him hell and told him that people like him were what was wrong with this country. Brutal? Yes. Deserved? Also yes, because if I found out that my kid took his privileges for granted after having to do all the naturalization shit just to cast a ballot, I don't think I'd be able to hold back either.

She wasn't perfect, but more people probably could've benefited from having a mom like that lol

I can't believe I never tried the English dub. Its actually quite good, and I want to watch it again. Highly, highly recommend looking into it, its an incredibly pretty looking movie.

Since I'm getting back into reading, I would like to try reading some of the novels... I know I can probably find them somewhere online, but the covers look so cool that I'd love to own them.

I need to remember to post on here more often... life has been busy.

This video by D'Angelo Wallace about the "irony epidemic" or "toxic unseriousness" or what have you is everything to me now because it has perfectly articulated something I have been thinking about for months.

The TL;DR is, a second catastrophe has hit Matt Mullenweg in the form of lawsuits that are bringing fresh allegations of worker's rights violations and human-trafficking-esque (?) behavior to light. You can read about it on Tumblr and find relevant court documentation here and here.

Of course, all of the abuse outlined in these documents is heinous, but I especially want to draw attention to this (for clarification, Kathleen Mullenweg is Matt Mullenweg's mom):

... I finally put my foot down and placed my self ship community oriented Tumblr blog into permanent hiatus.

I was initially hesitant to let go because I'd met a lot of cool people there and I didn't know if my self ship art would be accepted outside of that sphere. However, after spending time on Cohost amongst Gundam fans who didn't yell at people for violating their three page DNIs and who weren't unhealthily obsessed with bullshit shipping discourse, I realized that the culture there had negatively affected me. When I made the choice to just stop logging in, it was like a huge weight had lifted off my shoulders. The digital panopticon was no longer a threat.

I know a lot of people glaze the everloving shit out of Cohost, but I do have Eggbug to thank for showing me that I actually didn't need to cling to toxic internet communities for acceptance and validation. I know I'm not alone in that respect, either, I ran into people who said that Cohost is what got them to finally ditch Twitter.

I suppose I've learned that you truly don't need toxic internet communities as much as you think you do. The lightweight social media acquaintence-ships you may have formed with a few users aren't worth it, especially if you can talk to them elsewhere. Neither is the occasional crumb of good content you receive. Putting your foot down and committing to leaving is truly the hardest part. Once you're out and you've established yourself elsewhere, you'll wonder why you even chose to stay in the first place.

All I have to say is that I love pics of Tieria that show he has pretty eyelashes.

I'm about 50% done with my HG Raphael. I won't lie, I initially wasn't too fond of this suit when I watched AWoT. Seravee in Season 2 felt like a natural evolution of Virtue's design with its bulky frame and shoulder cannons. Raphael did not resemble either of its predecessors in the slightest. If I'm being honest, it still does look like a regular Gundam with a bunch of equipment haphazardly stapled to its back. Raphael Dominions is a much better successor to the Seravee suit in terms of design alone.

However, I'd be lying if I didn't enjoy some of the symbolism present in Raphael's technology. Raphael is the product of technology data that was gathered from both Celestial Being and the Innovators. More specifically, some of its data and equipment were pulled from the Gadessa, while other equipment was pulled from his previous suit. The technology and data from these two suits were merged together to create a hybrid heavy assault unit with better mobility and flexibility than either of its predecessors.

Some obvious parallels can the suit's half-human, half-Innovator origins. Tieria is an Innovade that closely identifies with human beings. At this point, he has embraced both halves of his personal identity and his team is aware of his true origins. The suit's increased mobility could also be a reference to the fact that Tieria has become less rigid and more amicable with time. However, its height and weight distribution make it less effective at combat on Earth's surface... a potential reference to Tieria's preference for space??? Much to think about.

Anyways I love Tieria so much its unreal
