[Curriculum Vitae] (Updated: Jan. 2026)
I am recruiting talented and motivated computational researchers to join my lab as a postdoctoral fellow or graduate student. Please check this link for joining our lab.
I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Translational Molecular Pathology at MD Anderson Cancer Center. I also am an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Rice University. My current research interests are (1) Multimodal deep learning in pathology (2) 3D computational pathology, (3) Biomedical signal processing, and (4) Statistical inference frameworks.
Previously, I was a postdoctoral research fellow in the Department of Pathology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Harvard medical school, working with Professor Faisal Mahmood. I also have closely collaborated with Professors Jonathan Liu, Sizun Jiang, and Guillaume Jaume.
Further back, I received Ph.D. from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) in Feb. 2022, with a focus on neural signal processing, co-advised by Professors Emery N. Brown (MIT) and Demba Ba (Harvard). I have Bachelor’s & M.Eng. degrees, all in EECS, from MIT and graduated from Seoul Science High School. I also served in Republic of Korea Army for two years, during which I was stationed at Tyre, Lebanon as a UN peacekeeping force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) for a year.
