I always post everything on facebook now, but I know of a few people who still check this blog. We finally had a chance to get family pictures this week. Stephen is finished with his second year in med school and has now taken the Boards. The Boards, are the biggest test of his life and he studied for 6 straight weeks 13 hours a day. So to say we haven't seen much of him is an understatement. He has a whole 5 days off before he starts in the hospital. His first rotation in the hospital is pediatrics. I'm excited for him to put those last two years of book learning into some hands on learning.
It's my Anniversary tomorrow! 13 Years.

Robot Building Birthday Party.
Planning Stages
Parts Acquisition
Stephen Welding
The boys doing their part.
The lower half of the robot.
Meet SLIDE! (The sticker on the robots feet says AB SLIDE, which is Aiden's initials:)
The robot cost $35 dollars for supplies at the D.I. which include; thermos jug for the head, flashlight for the eyes, video game remote controller for neck and shoulders, roasting pan for chest, golf clubs for arms with forks for fingers, tripod for waist, ice cream maker for hips, 2 pots for legs and knees and 2 AB Sliders for the feet and ankles.
Notice the Iron Man power source on his chest. The boys were pretty excited to find that inside the VCR they took apart.

A Post all about my Asher
Back in September Asher celebrated his 7th birthday. He wanted a BUG party with lots of friends and that is just what he got!
This is our traditional picture taken the next day at his family party. We didn't have any adults at his friend party to take the picture then. Having so many wild kids to be in charge of that day made me question if I really want to be an elementary teacher. Ha HA....let's just hope I am able to maintain good classroom discipline.
Asher is in first grade and doing great! He's a smart boy and he's doing well with his reading. He's a bit lazy when it comes to homework and getting out of bed in the mornings for school, but we are staying on top of it all. He loves to sing and started piano a couple months ago. He just had a halloween recital where he played the Mickey Mouse March song and he did great! He told me he was really nervous:)
He's a sensitive boy and can get his feelings hurt quite easily. He loves to play with friends and of course watch tv. I see him always playing with friends at recess but he gets short changed by not having friends close by in the neighborhood. He's limited to a couple kids and I should be better about setting up playdates for him. His front teeth are finally coming in and his gap smile is filling in nice and straight:) Asher is also really good at guilt trips in his young age. Boy can he make you feel guilty! He's also my first kid to complain about pretty much everything. His favorite lines are, "I'm bored," and "this is so annoying." We are working on having a positive attitude.
Asher also is the best at sharing! He will give you the shirt off his back if it would make you happy. He gives everything away. At almost every soccer game when he gets his treats he gives them to Aiden and Macy. The sad thing is the neither Aiden or Macy would offer up their treats if the situation were reversed. He loves to run through the neighborhood sharing anything that he has received. I love this about him! I'm also worried that I'm going to have to teach him some serious money management because I just know he is going to be giving his money away to anyone in need for the rest of his life.
My little soccer player. Asher is in his 4th year of playing recreation
soccer and is doing great. He scores goals at every game but is not the
quickest kid around. He is the tallest though! He's been getting a
little belly these last couple of months and I'm assuming it's because
he's putting on the pounds in preparation for another growth spurt.
Where did these solid, tall, big feet boys come from? Must be the
Bettwieser side.

Just some favorite pictures of Asher this summer.......
