Welcome!

I am an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Bard College, in the Computational Sciences program.

I am researcher in human-computer interaction (HCI) and workplace ethnography, with a focus on qualitative methods. I study the “who, when, where, how, and why” of dataset creation, focusing on how the datasets used to train and refine AI systems come into being and the values and attitudes they represent. I am particularly interested in the data needs and capacities of civic, non-profit, and academic organizations.

You can find my academic CV here.
