1.3 or 2.0??

I am planning on reformating my server in the next week or two. I'm switching linux distros(red hat is starting to anger me). Anyway I have only used apache 2.0 and i know a lot of people swear by 1.3, what are the major differences, if any? and which would you all recomend? is 2.0 really that much greater than 1.3? there are also some things that i would kinda like to setup on my server, such as an lj rip-off site, which supposedly will not run on 2.0. Any advice that yall may have in chooseing which version of apache i should use is greatly appreciated!!
