Now that our little one is almost 6 weeks old, I guess its time for an update considering the last post was when we found out we were having a girl!
Here's the story of her arrival:
On Saturday, Sept. 8 I woke up with lower back pain that kept coming and going all day. I didn't think much of it cause I had been having lower back pain for a few weeks. I went on with my day, cleaned the house, went shopping, the regular Saturday things. As dinner time came around I was still having the pains, but they were about the same as they had been all day. We decided to go out to dinner since that what we usually do on Saturday nights. Jordan fell asleep on the way to the restaurant, so we laid him on one side of the booth while we sat on the other. It was like one last date night before we had the baby!
While we were at dinner the pains starting getting worse, but I was convinced they were Braxton Hicks contractions. I didn't believe I was lucky enough to have my baby a week and a half early, so it couldn't have been real contractions! Through dinner I would have to stop eating while the pains come, but then they would go away and I felt just fine.
There was a Go Kart track and arcade close to where we ate, we decided to have some family fun before the baby came. While Jordan and Josh were ride the go karts, I watched and took pictures trying to enjoy the outing. After their rides we went inside and they played some games, but we cut our time a little short since I was starting to get really uncomfortable.
When we got home I tried resting to see if I would start feeling better, and we put Jordan to bed. At about 10 the pain was getting bad so we decided to take Jordan to a friend's house and go to the hospital.
When we got all settled at the hospital, they checked me and I was only at 1 cm but they weren't sure if I was going to have the baby that night. After a day of pain and finally going to the hospital, I really didn't want to go home without my baby in my arms!
About an hour later I was at 4 cm, and decided that she was coming that night, ans they called my doctor in for my c-section. It took awhile to get my doctor and the assisting doctor there, and to get everything ready for my c-section, and they wouldn't give me anything for the pain. They were going to give a spinal tap for the operation so I couldn't get an epidural or anything. They even tried to get me to deliver naturally so I could get an epidural and have the baby in a few hours, but I didn't have a good feeling about having a VBAC. Finally about 1 I was brought into the OR and they prepped me for the operation.
At 1:30 am on Sunday, September 9, our little princess arrived!
