The Challenge
In 2017, MDG sought support for R&D and product development for its GRAS fermentation products. A key priority was minimizing product degradation, particularly in their postbiotic fermentation broth – a material that required careful handling to prevent degradation.
MDG needed a partner who could provide this expertise, while also offering toll drying capabilities to support intermediate tolling needs.
APD in Action
Advanced Powder Dynamics partnered closely with MDG to conduct product development and intermediate toll drying runs during the installation of two of their dryers (R&D dryer and production dryer). Building on the success of this collaboration, we extended our partnership with MDG. Our team continues to support the company with dryer optimization trials and process development, leveraging our expertise in process engineering. In addition, we provided support for yield improvements, temperature management, and conveyance strategies tailored to the complex nature of postbiotic fermentation broths.
