Caribbean Cruise!

Wow! It has been quite a while since I've updated this thing.. testing, testing.. does anybody even use blogs anymore? I am doing this mostly for family who doesn't have FB and it's easier to document some things on blogs. Preston and I are doing great. Not a whole lot is new. Preston is in the middle of a 6 week break of Internships. He's been a great "house husband" :) He is still loving serving as the Young Men's President and I am still loving primary and Activity Day's. Both Young Men's and Activity Day's are done with activities until January. I am LOVING the Christmas season. I am always so anxious to get decorations up and blast the music. BUT, I do wait until the day after Thanksgiving.. I like to give each holiday it's own time! Anywho, our house is pretty with lit up garland and our pretty tree and our outside lights look great, thanks to Preston! I am still liking my job. I have some great friends there and my boss treats us pretty well!

As many of you might have known we were just able to enjoy a wonderful cruise. We had a great time! We visited the Western Caribbean! We cruised with Carnival and let me tell you... they were fantastic. So easy to work with and they were beyond helpful. On the ship, the crew were always cleaning, wiping everything down, our room was cleaned twice a day, the waiter's/dining room/food was fantastic and they are all so friendly! They even had the ship decorated for Christmas. There were awesome show's... Singing/dancing, juggling, magic, comedy etc. They had a fun Holiday show the last night and they had the kid's on the ship involved in singing and decorating a tree. It was really sweet. They even incorporated the true meaning of Christmas. They even did a couple songs for Chanukah. It was really cool. They have staff from 50 different nations working on the ship. They sang Silent Night and had a person from each nation come down the aisles holding candles (battery operated of course) singing Silent Night. It was so cool, it gave me chills and yes, I teared up. If you are a part of the Vielstich family, you know the importance of Stille Nacht :) I don't have anything bad to say about the cruise. I thought there would be some chaos getting off and on the ship, getting dinner etc but everything was so smooth and so relaxing and FUN! Here are the pictures!

Then we went Crystal Cave Tubing. This cave was very similar to Timpanogas Cave in Ut. Except we got to get wet and take a tube through it!

The pictures I took don't do justice when it comes to all the crystals. This is called the Chandallier!

At the end, we got to swim in the cave! The water was surprisingly not cold.. not warm but not freezing either! Very refreshing!

Can I just say, I love our new camera. Our old ancient one wouldn't have been able to capture this fast action stuff.

The first part, they broke us up into groups and we got to be up close with a dolphin and a trainer. Where we got to rub the dolphin and see lot's of fun tricks and learn some fun facts.
Photobucket
This has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember. To swim with dolphins and be up close and personal with them like this!

After this part, we got to go out in the water and snorkel and swim with them. They didn't allow camera's so I asked why and he said they used to but that the dolphin's would be playful and take camera's out of people's hands and take off with them. We were in the middle of about 2 dozen mom's with their calves. They would come right up to us and let us pet them and swim next to us. I was in HEAVEN!!!

I think Captain Jack Sparrow was on there!

We then had a stop in Grand Cayman. We didn't book an excursion here. We wanted a beach day and the beaches and water here are AMAZING. Preston and I took a cab to 7-mile beach and where we got dropped off, it was super crowded so we walked about 20 minutes and were pretty much on our own private beach with maybe 2 other couples. It was beautiful. There wasn't anybody around us, it was quiet, peaceful, the water was fabulous. I was like a little kid and threw a fit when I had to get out of the water.. okay, not really but I was definitely sad when we had to leave this place. The sand was so white and soft. Just like what you imagine!
