So excited to have finally seen Exit 8. First time I was able to watch a movie starring my oshi in the movies here in the Philippines, I just had to go on opening day! I did watch 47 Ronin when it came out here in 2013 but Jin wasn't the star of that!

Oshi no Ko with Nino also was showing here a few months ago, but since he didn't show up much there I decided not to watch. Showtime 7 is also showing this week at the Japan Film Festival, but I might not watch since Ryo only shows up on the last 15 minutes of the movie.

For a weekday afternoon, I think the turnout in my local SM Cinema was pretty good. It was opening day and since only 2 seats were reserved when I bought my tickets, I figured the only people watching would be students looking for the cheaper movies (this was at a smaller theater so it was cheaper than the ones at the Director's Club) or horror movies at that time slot. However it seemed like on of the girls in the group in front of me was a fan, the 2 girls beside me might have been too. There were a few guys that watched alone, maybe they were video game fans.

19 years of KAT-TUN has come to an end.
I am upset that we didn't get a proper farewell concert, even if it wasn't for the 20th anniversary.

I had hoped that now with adult money I could make the trip to Japan to see them in concert.

But as hyphens we've gotten used to things not going to plan.

With KAT-TUN gone, this is my last straw. The last group that I still follow in the agency and in Jpop. With this, I'll probably done with all of it.

Since they've been on hiatus for 4 years, I haven't been able to spot Arashi everywhere like on my last visit , but there were still a few bits and pieces.

I couldn't spot any KAT-TUN this time, but when I went for the first time in 2013 Kame's Panasonic Lamdash ads were on the train.

I was able to catch Sakurai and Ariyoshi's Yakai on my last night, and Nino's LUUP CM too. Aiba's face was around Shibuya for his Koikeya CM. I was sad not to see any trace of Jun though.

However, I was in luck as it happened to be Arashi's 25th Anniversary Blu-ray release, and I spotted their displays on some random record shop visits.

On my last day, I found on Twitter that it was Nino's book release date, and that he had a full page ad on the newspaper. I quickly requested a copy of the day's paper from the hotel, and went to the bookstore to grab my copy of his book. I spotted his billboard for it too!

Tatta Hitotsu no Koi is one of my favorite dramas of all time and I've always wanted to go to Yokohama because of it. I've finally been able to go around Yokohama for a day and went to a few spots where they filmed the drama back in 2006! I've based my info on this website.

First off is the Motomachi Shopping District which features in a few walking scenes in the drama.

Casting director of Gokusen is insane. Imagine casting 3 batches of relative unknowns who would go on to become highly successful actors. There must be a blessing that comes with being casted in Gokusen. Whenever I rewatch I get excited spotting big stars now that were just students with no speaking lines in the background.

Gokusen 1:
Matsumoto Jun
Oguri Shun
Narimiya Hiroki - retired from entertainment

Matsuyama Kenichi
Wentz Eiji
Tanaka Kei - student of diff school

Gokusen 2:
Kamenashi Kazuya
Akanishi Jin
Motomichi Hayami
Koide Keisuke - cancelled

Mizushima Hiro
Kengo Kora

Gokusen 3:
Miura Haruma - RIP
Ishiguro Hideo
Miura Shohei

Movie:
Kento Kaku

Also I feel like Mizobata Junpei is in 2? But I couldn’t find any credits

On a different note after another rewatch of Hana Yori Dango Returns I realized Omasa Aya plays one of the Eitoku students.

The director's cut is about 33 minutes longer than the original movie. A lot of scenes were paced slower especially the ones shot in a destination. I have not rewatched the original cut of the film, if I do watch it again I can probably edit this, but this is my memory of things that are only in the Director's Cut. Please correct me if i'm wrong. Also I cannot believe that HYD is almost 20 years old!!

In general, a lot of scenes are just longer.

Makino sharing a water bottle with Domyouji in the car

Longer press announcement scene

Scene of them in LA renting the red car

Scene in the diner eating

Scenes in Tsukasa's office

Scenes with Nishida knowing that the tiara is missing and telling them to not be flashy on the trip

Longer scenes with Yuki and Okami, including the one where they walk

A lot more scenes of different people making Makino doubt the marriage

Kaburagi has way more scenes

Longer fight scenes at Hotel Volver

Longer Hongkong scenes

Longer Beach scenes — Kisshug is played during the flashbacks and when Makino cries about the necklace, and has already stopped by the time Domyouji finds her

Longer wedding scene

Credits shows a flashback of the kiss scene at Domyouji airport from finale of S1

Final post credits of the message Jun and Mao wrote on the red car

Also I've watched this movie so many times and just now realized that the yellow shirt Makino wears at the beach spells out Tomato PQRN. lol

Netflix has been consistently adding a lot of subbed Jdramas, movies and documentaries to its roster, unfortunately a lot of it is region locked.

Streaming apps like WeTV, Viu, Viki, IQiyi and others carry subbed Jdramas and some of them carry ongoing dramas as well. Most of these are completely free but others will have ads or have an optional premium service.

If you're from the Philippines or in regions near the Philippines, Waku-Waku Japan and GEM TV (both on Cignal in the Philippines) have shows like VS Arashi, Kaji Yarou (Waku-Waku Japan), dramas like Red Eyes (GEM TV) as well as other shows and dramas subbed in English.

I would love to know if you know any other legal ways to support the Japanese entertainment industry and the artists. I believe choosing the legal way to support them even if we are used to years of going around the back to consume these content, is also going to be helpful in encouraging them to open up more to the global market.

After 3 weeks of our minds spinning, finally MYSTERY SOLVED... pic.twitter.com/9yYMmmS2Be
Some hyphens were able to find these images that represented each letter of KAT-TUN behind the mysterious 3 dot cover for each version of Roar. Must admire the coding skill. Really can't catch a break with these guys teasing us every chance they get but I love it. No theories yet on why the member colors are kinda not in the right letters and are kinda random. But now that there's a digital version, does that mean that one is the hyphen?  Also in other news it's so sad that the first 3 concerts for the 15th Anniversary Live are cancelled. Since the online concert was supposed to be live, it's probably cancelled too but they are still selling tickets for the online one and haven't made any date changes so I guess we have to wait for announcements.
arashi143: (Kame is <3)

KAT-TUN really has tons of surprises up their sleeves for the 15th anniversary! Aside from the online concert on the day of on March 22nd, they're also having a live eve of event which is also right after one of their concerts. And there's no additional need to buy tickets for it if you buy one copy each of the five versions of Roar, excluding the fan club version, and this also gets you streaming access to the member solo PVs!

I'm so excited and I'm somehow imagining something similar to the post Arafes encore event where they're all just drinking after watching themselves work hard for the day. Except KAT-TUN's online concert won't be until the next day, in which case they'll be drinking and hyping us up and maybe going down memory lane and getting sappy?? Combination of post concert, alcohol, and 15th year feels?

As always there are many other ways to support as stated by this one hyphen right here (I just used Google Translate). And don't forget to join these fanprojects for the 15th anniversary!

arashi143: (Kame is <3)
If Jun is the one that introduced me to Johnny's, Kame is the one that made me stay. I was literally obsessed with KAT-TUN because of him, and he was my first real ichiban that as a kid my life plan was to literally to go to Japan and become an actress so that I could one day marry him. I got braces in order to pursue this dream lol. I read somewhere that he likes girls that are super clean and remember to clean their belly buttons and the back of their ears in the shower, and now it's unconsciously become my habit for a decade. If Seino Nana can marry Ikuta Toma with a 10 year age gap, I have hope that I can marry Kame because we also have a 10 year age gap lol. But yeah I'm so excited for KAT-TUN's activities this year and I made a video for the first time ever for my favorite hip shaking, tongue clicking turtle to celebrate his birthday this year!

If you're a hyphen, there are a couple fan projects to celebrate their 15th anniversary which are super simple to join so please do consider supporting! For one of them the deadline is today, but it's really quick to join, and if you don't make it there's almost a month to join the second one!

I’ve been trying to practice my Japanese by speaking to other Japanese fans on social media.  I’ve been talking to one fan for less than a month and mentioned I wasn’t able order the Arafes keyholder because of a conflict with the service that I used. She then offered to send me a spare one that she bought for herself all the way from Japan to the Philippines. At first I was so skeptical to give out my full name and address to a total stranger from the internet whose face I don’t know and doesn’t know my face, but today i finally received it and it really was the sweetest thing. She even included a handwritten letter telling me to come to Japan so she can introduce me to her other friends who are Arashi fans!
Other fans I’ve been talking to send me photos of TV and newspaper appearances, things I wouldn’t see if I didn’t live in Japan, and most of them express support for Johnny’s globalizing. I’m just really pleasantly surprised after thinking all this time that Japanese fans didn’t wanna share their idols.

Goods for KAT-TUN's 15th Anniversary Live went on sale today. If you're in the fan club, you can join the lottery to watch their concert in person which will be held from March. If you can't watch in person or are not in the fan club, you can watch their online concert on March 22nd, Monday, which is also their debut date. This is a live concert with audience which will also be streamed online for fans that are unable to make it. It starts from 18:00 onwards Japan time. As of now tickets are not on sale yet, but do consider watching if you are able to to show your support.

If you are unable to watch the online concert but want to show your support, a short version of KAT-TUN's PV for their new single Roar was uploaded on J-Storm's Youtube last night. Please check it out and add some views to encourage Johnny's to keep doing this and strengthen their online presence. I've never seen Nakamaru wear earrings before! Also, check out some fanprojects you can join.

Now to the main topic. KAT-TUN's goods were trending yesterday because they released a wineglass which reminded people of Kame's drama, Kami no Shizuku. It's perfect for viewing parties and crying while watching the concert lol. Today they were trending because the penlight is!in!6!colors!!!!!! One hyphen interpreted the penlight here as:
Top view: Triangle - represents the current three members
Side view: Rectangle - represents the hyphens
When lit up: Pink, Red, Orange, Yellow, Blue, Purple - represents the 6 member colors
I had to add it to my cart immediately when I saw it on Twitter even if I already finished buying my goods cause I wanted it to come in time for the concert, which means a separate shipping fee (Johnny's FAQ states that even if 2 orders were made on the same day, separate orders are separate shipping fees). It was worth it for the nostalgia, and it was half the price of Arafes's penlight (just saying). They also had masks which were subtle enough for everyday use and reminded me of Nakamaru's Tanoshii Jikan masks.

I know I keep saying Nakamaru is my new KAT-TUN ichiban, but I've been loving Kame's visuals recently. I haven't seen his drama yet but ever since that drama he's been looking extra good every time. Which is why I couldn't resist ordering his photoset. Every shot was extremely cute even if I never knew what to do with those things. I also got the uchiwas cause they were really really really cute! They were posing while signing 1 and 5 on their hands for their 15th anniversary, but fans on Twitter made me realize this also means 6 aka 6nin! Kame was wearing glasses and Nakamaru ended his streak of not changing poses for uchiwa shoots. I was debating whether to get the pamphlet or not, but got it anyway cause it's the 15th anniversary and figured there must be some gems there and maybe they could look back a little bit. Also because getting the Arafes pamphlet last minute was so worth it.

They also had group and individual posters, clearfiles and photosets, among other goods. Do check it out! In addition, someone found that the logo for the tour and all the goods also contains all the member colors as subtle lines between U & N. They are killing us with all the 6nin references! This makes me hope they make an appearance on the online concert or at least watch. But this is probably wishful thinking.
Many services will ship the goods to your home country if you do not have a Japanese address. They will also pack the goods together for cheaper international shipping upon request, if you've made separate orders.

In other news, the coupling songs for the Roar single were revealed. I want them to release all the songs they sang when they were juniors, but only 3 songs made it.

arashi143: (Kame is <3)

Calling all hyphens! To celebrates KAT-TUN's 15th Anniversary next month I've stumbled upon a couple of fan projects!

Please consider joining and supporting these fan projects. It doesn't take a lot of time and they welcome all hyphens whether you support 6nin, 5nin, 4nin or 3nin KAT-TUN! The point is showing our thanks and support for all of these years and for the years to come. There are many simple ways to participate and you do not have to show your face.

The deadline for this first video project is February 23rd. Please check the link for more details.

There's another video project and the deadline is on March 18th. There's also a hashtag project if you prefer something simpler.

Since I figured out how to listen to Japanese radio shows recently, I've been trying to listen to Kame's Hang Out and Nino's Bay Storm as much as I can. I even wrote to them but since I had no knowledge of the segments of the program I don't think my fanletter type messages were suitable. Today I had problems with the VPN I used and by the time I was able to connect, Arashi's Sakura Sake was playing which I was pleasantly surprised by. I've been missing Arashi extra so I was glad to hear that on the radio. Then like last week Kame played KAT-TUN's new single Roar which is the theme song for his new drama. Honestly I really liked it. Can't wait for the release in time for KAT-TUN's 15th anniversary. I'm also excited for the release of their unreleased songs from their early years where fans voted for which ones they wanted released. I'm really excited for their activities this year.
