Spring it on...

Thought I would make up for being an absentee blogger with some photo treats.
Blogger is being silly. I am not patient. Bad combo.

1. Aim was in town for Thanksgiving. Late night run to QT for a snack was a must. Nay would be proud, my sisters would be disgusted.
ImageImage2. Palmers got together and had a kickin' Christmas Party. This photo is a treat merely because I love the people in it. Especially the little ones in the front; they are a hoot!

3. We got to talk Elder Askins for about 2 hours Christmas Day, which was a REAL blessing. Although I tried hard to hide it, he said he can still recognize my crying voice. He is doing wonderful and as Allie's sign will tell you, STILL long winded. Image

4. Lisa turned 30 and this night deserves its own post. We had quite the lively party, and running into an old Coolidge brotha was definitely a highlight.
ImageImage5. Arizona celebrated its 99th birthday this year. And I showed up waaaay too early to draw this beauty for our Valentine's/Arizona's b-day party. I fool my kids into thinking I have some mad artistic abilities; not sure if they have caught on to my cheating techniques! :)

I now remember why I haven't blogged for months. This takes FOREVER. Blogger is being lame and I don't have the patience for this.

Who needs you baby..... I DO!

Several of my favorite men/boys have been making me smile these last few months....
In true Audrey fashion, here is my itemized list.
1. Dave Ramsey came to Dodge in September and Kate got us tickets for my birthday. Although he could be my father, I really do love him and continue to chant, "What would Dave do?"
ImageImage2. Clay Walker. Despite his cold, he put on a great (short) concert.
Image3. Tom is becoming a part of my daily wardrobe. HUGE fan of my new kicks, thank you Daniel. AND I am impressed with his One for One campaign. The corderoys will be my next purchase.Image4. This is a great story; too long for the blog, so remind me to tell you next time we chat...Reid is my favorite Bachelor and let's just say, "He knows my name." (Allie, if you can name that movie I will give you $5) Next time I am in Philly, I will be stopping by the office. AND NOT disguising myself as a woman interested in Philly real estate. Image5. Nathan loves Brazil. His weekly emails really show his love for the people, culture, and the Lord.Image 6. Dane and Drew are the biggest crack up. Dane is quite the magician and Drew is just hilarious. Seeing them was a highlight of the NYC trip; wish they were a little closer. Image

Happy girl. Sigh.

So if you're too school for cool..

LOVE the new Pink song. And she is with child. She is one bad mamba jamba!

Things are movin’ and groovin’ at school and I am enjoying my kids. For some reason it takes me a season or so to quit wishing I would walk in and see my previous class in their desks ready to read my mind. But alas, here we are; working hard and having some fun along the way. Just ask em'!

Twin Day was more like Quintuplet Day, but with these girls, I wasn't complaining. Three of these sweet things were students from last year (one is a current student), all who I simply adore. Seriously, I have contemplated calling their moms to see if they could play; THAT is how cool they are.

ImageA classroom conversation evolved into a discussion where (several) students willingly admitted to brusing their teeth only once a day and occasionally going to bed without brushing. BARF! They noticed the look of complete disgust on my face as I ranted about how oral hygiene is linked to serious health problems and other things they could care less about at their age. So I pulled out the big guns… Allie came in with a cute little power point with some crazy nasty pictures of rotting teeth and a book about mouth bugs that hopefully got the point across. Actually I know it did as parents have told me their child now “dry brushes” and sets a timer.
ImageThe other day I received this email from a student’s mom; it made my heart smile. Real big.
K came to me this afternoon and says “Can I call Miss Askins?” I said, “No the phones go straight to voicemail at school and she’s kind of “off duty” for students after school.” He replies, “Shoot, I really need to talk to her…are you sure?” I ask him if there is something I could help him with and he says “No thanks, Mom. Sometimes I just need my teacher.” :) I.love.it.

Don't worry, school has been all consuming (if you know me well, you know how true this is...) I have made room for fun too. There is more where this blog updating thing came from!

Biz-nasssss

Yep, there was a time when the Askins kids looked like this..... don't judge. BUT the point of this post has nothing to do with looks, although Gonzo is pretty handsome, eh??
ImageWhen he first signed on with the Diamondbacks, he was a no namer with adorable triplets; Katie signed on as a nanny and he has made us proud ever since.
ImageImageImageImage(8/7/10) We went to his #20 retirement celebration! LOVE Gonzo. and LOVED the Diamondbacks in teal and purple; not a fan of this red and black business. That is for another Arizona team.
AND THEN...
(8/28/10) The Goo Goo Dolls at Dodge; Johnny is still ranked #2 on my 'Rocker Crush' list. I do have one.
ImageImageImageAfter the concert we had an early birthday celebration for Al.
How is my LITTLE sister 25?
(and she's a smart little girl) if you haven't seen her do this, you must...
AND THEN...
Rise Up Red Sea
ImageThanks to some very generous parents, we were able to cheer on my boys in supreme seating. We LOVE the Cards and #5,
Mr. Graham!!!
ImageImageThank you Graham family. The night was amazing and I now consider myself a good luck charm. Hopefully there is more where that came from.

8-9-10 (pretty cool birthday)

ImageTurner Duke Armstrong is here. I have been waiting an awful long time for him to come.....
27 years to be exact!

Britt and I have been connected at the hip since pre-school, before that even. We spent years playing house, school, primary, adoption agency and discussing our future plans. Life has turned out a little different for us (neither one of us married Zack Morris or a member of New Kids on the Block), but I always knew she would be an excellent mother; she had LOTS of practice.ImageThen and NowImageTurner came before I had the chance to blog about the shower. BUT it turned out perfect. Anything that involves a sweet treat bar is my kind of celebration.
ImageImageImageA request was made that each guest bring a book instead of a card to help build Turner's library.
ImageAlthough I have not seen Turner nearly as often as I would like, I LOVE him already. He is going to LOVE shopping, lunch, pedicures, and gossiping with his mommy and me!
