I’ve been meaning to share a few thoughts and tips about game narratives, writing, stories, and other things of that ilk. This is my space to do that long form!
Why should I listen to you?
Because I’m super interesting, obviously! Because you’re bored on the internet, and at least I can bore you on a specific topic?
…I sense you’re still doubtful. Alright then, let’s go!
I’m a narrative designer and a games writer. I’ve worked on some cool projects, like Coffee Talk: Hibiscus and Butterfly, F1 Manager 2022, Cartomancy Anthology, or Love Island The Game. Right now, I design narratives at Lively, and I write romance at Lovewish. Over the months, I’ve met a bunch of amazing people who taught me a lot, and I’d love to spread the love.
Conversely, I got started a relatively short time ago, so the steps of getting your foot in the door are still fresh in my mind and hopefully relevant to the industry as it is now.*
*Applying to a QA position isn’t one of them.
I’ve also been a reader and a writer of stories for longer than that. Non-game-writing and reading will therefore filter through. Hopefully, some of it will still be relevant to you, even if your main interest is games!
Lastly, I make my own small games—an amazingly fun adventure the results of which are great to have in your portfolio! I’ll try to explain how I made some of them and share part of the process for those I’m making now.
Note on newsletter frequency
To be honest, I don’t know how often this newsletter will pop up in your inboxes. I’d rather not set myself up for failure by committing to a schedule that I can’t keep.
Therefore, the best way I can put it is: I’ll drop you a line whenever I feel that I have something to say and the time to say it. Which might be once a month or once a year or just… once.
(But I’ll do my best, I promise.)
