The Azure AI Codeathon 2025 challenges participants to harness the full potential of Microsoft Azure’s AI ecosystem to solve real-world problems through innovation, intelligence, and impact.

This is your chance to explore cutting-edge technologies like Azure OpenAI, Azure Cognitive Services, Azure Machine Learning, and Azure AI Studio, building solutions that push the boundaries of what’s possible with artificial intelligence.

Whether you want to build a chatbot that improves mental health, design an AI-driven education platform, or create a sustainability analytics dashboard your creativity drives the future.

Requirements

🛠️ What to Build

Participants are challenged to design and develop an innovative solution powered by Azure AI Services.
Your project should clearly demonstrate how Azure’s AI tools enhance functionality, solve real-world problems, or improve user experiences.

🔹 You can build:

  • AI-powered Web or Mobile Applications — integrate Azure OpenAI, Speech, Vision, or Language APIs.

  • Data-driven Dashboards — use Azure ML or Cognitive Services for insights and automation.

  • Generative AI Tools — create text, image, or video generation apps using Azure OpenAI models.

  • Smart Assistants or Chatbots — combine Azure AI with Azure Bot Service or Cognitive Search.

  • AI for Social Impact — projects that address challenges in education, health, sustainability, or accessibility.

💬 Be creative — any project that uses Azure AI services meaningfully is welcome!

📦 What to Submit

To be eligible for judging, your submission must include the following:

  1. 🧠 Project Description

    • Clearly explain what your solution does and which problem it solves.

    • Describe how Azure AI services were integrated and used.

  2. 💻 Working Prototype / Demo

    • Provide a live demo link (web app, hosted project, or video walkthrough).

    • If not hosted, include a demo video (max 3–5 minutes) showing your app in action.

  3. 🧾 GitHub Repository

    • Source code with a README file explaining setup, dependencies, and Azure components used.

  4. 🖼️ Presentation Deck (Optional)

    • A short slide deck summarizing your idea, architecture, and AI impact.

  5. 🧩 Team & Credits

    • List all team members, their roles, and contributions.

⚠️ Projects must use at least one Azure AI Service to qualify. Creativity, functionality, and impact will be key judging criteria.
