Eve and the boys had their well child checks on Friday. Everyone did just dandy for the most part, all four kiddos were able to get their flu vaccines, and I was able to enjoy a glass of wine when we got home. :)
The boys measured on the 50th percentile for EVERYTHING and had almost the exact same measurements, which is still shocking to me. Their build is so different from each other that it doesn't seem like they could be this close! Ike and Levi measured 28.5" and 28.3" respectively, and weighed in at 21lb 3oz and 20lb 12oz. Even their head circumferences were almost the same at 17.9" and 18". So crazy! Ike is all solid chunk with some serious cankels, and Levi is all roly poly and dimpled. But they're both pretty stinking adorable!
And Evie is growing!!! She's now on the 5th percentile line for weight coming in at a whopping 29lbs, and in the 10th percentile for height at a lengthy 35". May seem like small potatoes, but she's grown quite a bit recently and the growth curve looks great! Just proof that dynamite comes in small packages...
And Iris is just awesome. Definitely not shy in a doctor's office even if it's not her appointment. Our pediatrician not only knows she takes ballet and can do pullovers in gymnastics, but also knows my favorite color, that she has a purple bicycle, that her sister was a butterfly for Halloween (even though she can't actually fly), that Ike is crawling but Levi just rolls around, and that she wishes "with all her heart to be a princess just like Cinderella" when she grows up. :)

It's been a busy fall!!!
And I obviously have not been keeping up very well with my posts! I'll do my best to give you the readers digest version of the past 3 months, and then bombard you with photos. :)
First of all, both girls started a new preschool program in September that we've been extremely pleased with. They go on the same days, at the same time, but are in different classes which is the perfect combination!!! They have an hour of art time, an hour of circle time stuff and an hour of gymnastics. The somersaults around this joint are getting pretty good! They girls also began dance lessons in September, where they go for an hour every week. It's a combo of tap/ballet/baton and they are LOVING it. And the boys are becoming regular dance junkies watching through the windows.
Next, Sweet Eve Elisabeth officially turned 3. HOLY. MOLY. I'm still getting my mind wrapped around it. She is soooo clearly 3 years old in behavior, but she's still pretty pint size and can still get incredibly small when she wants to curl up in your lap. I think she gets funnier every day and is pretty hilarious to talk to...if you can get her to sit still for a conversation.
Erik also celebrated a birthday in October, turning a whopping 34. Man, that boy is old. :) And as a special birthday present for Erik, Isaac began crawling "properly". Pretty darn sweet. But he is officially into EVERYTHING at this point, so we've been working on some baby gate solutions. Levi isn't crawling just yet, but is rolling like a tumbleweed every which way. He very rarely stops rolling when you put him down and just the other day started popping up to all 4's and rocking back and forth. So probably come Christmas we'll have some roving little elves.
Halloween was a BLAST around here! Iris went dressed as a Lalaoopsy girl, Evie was a beautiful butterfly, Levi was Superman and Ike was Clark Kent. Everyone looked amazing!!! We went trick-or-treating late afternoon at Country Village where every shop was handing out treats, came home for a quick dinner and then sent the girls back out with Daddy around the neighborhood. They RAKED in the candy, and we're all still enjoying their spoils. :)
The boys are officially 9 months at this point and are eating food like champs. I've quit pureeing anything and most of their meals are comprised of finger foods at this point, which is really fun and really messy. Their current favorites are chicken, sweet potatoes and cheese. Last week we made a trip to the doc (it's been a cold bug infested fall around here) and Ike was up to 20lb 15oz and Levi was 20lb 10oz!!! Our rolls overfloweth. (9 month official appt is in a few days, so we'll see how they stack up in height!)
Erik has been traveling A LOT for various meetings and is hot on the interview trail for his first "real job" following this fellowship. We've got a few places that we're heavily considering, so cross your fingers we find a great offer that we can both agree on. Hopefully we'll have news to share on that front after the new year.
Now. A flood of photos. :)

6 months. Hard to believe!
So the boys are a little over the 6 month mark which is CRAZY to think about. Even though I can hardly remember our lives before they arrived, it seems as though they were just born. Each day brings new changes and new developments for all the kiddos.
The boys are now eating professionals. Up to three "meals" a day, and REALLY enjoying their time in the highchair! We went for a 6 month checkup recently and Ike was up to 16lb 10oz, and Levi 15lb 9oz. Whoa. Levi's arm rolls...er....muscles...now rival Sprout's at this age! But there is definitely something to be said for fat and happy. :) They are usually only up once during the night, which is a welcome development, and are rocking and rolling all over the floor. I'd forgotten how much fun it is to have babies roll all over the place!
The girls continue to just amaze us. They've been really enjoying their summer preschool program and I'm amazed at how quickly Eve seems to have grown up just in the last month or so. They've also been loving our summer adventures - the JonesEggerLip reunion in Northern Idaho, a Vanderlip Sr. visit to Seattle, Family day trips for hiking & glacier/ice cave exploration, trips to the beach and new playgrounds, Sprout's first season of TBall and A LOT of time spent splashing in the baby pool in the yard.
I need to be better about posting pictures. There are just too many good ones to share!

Summertime Fun Time!
Realizing it's been more than a month since I've posted, I'm going to absolutely assault your senses with cuteness. It seems that the only time I have during the day to update the blog is during nap time, and now that Iris is "napping" (i.e. singing, dancing, reading and building couch forts) out in the office my access to the computer is limited to the evening hours, and Erik usually has real work to do on it. Hopefully I'll get back into a better swing up updating soon!
To say that we've been busy is perhaps an understatement. There's been a lot going on around here! Erik's been traveling, we've had visitors, we've all had a good dose of a summer cold, and somewhere in there we have finished up a batch of swimming lessons, Iris has graduated from her first year of preschool (ceremony and everything!), the boys have COMPLETELY chubbed out, and now, both girls just started a summer preschool program called Summer Fun Bunch. That's right...Eve has now joined the ranks of the preschoolers. It's very surreal to me to say the least.
At the end of May I trekked all the kiddo's to the doctor for three well-child checks - which obviously was a hilarious and exciting few hours. There were 10 shots and 2 oral vaccines between Iris and the boys, and we definitely all earned our milkshake on the drive home. Iris is measuring in the 75th percentile for both height and weight, and is a whopping 3ft 6 inches. HOLY. MOLY. Levi weighed in at 12lb 4oz, and Ike an impressive 13lb 9oz. Ike seems so big to me, so I went back and looked up Sprout to find that she weighed 14lb 12oz at her 4 month check. I suppose my perspective has changed somewhat given how tiny the boys were in the NICU. Eve, meanwhile, enjoyed some goldfish crackers and stickers. But she seems to have grown an inch or two overnight and is suddenly wearing size 2T, so we'll see what she's measuring this fall!
The boys are even bigger now, and are officially 21 weeks. We don't have specific measurements but the rolls keep on comin'! We just started trying out some cereal this week and while the majority winds up on their faces instead of in their tummies, I hope they'll get the hang of it soon. Our issue lately seems to be hunger, and it appears that the boys are beginning to demand more than I can supply. Inevitable or not, I'm not quite emotionally ready to wean them, but nursing them every hour and a half around the clock is no picnic either. I'm trying to take it day by day, and we'll just see how it all plays out. Fingers crossed!
