Another week of not too much going on.

My brother told me Friday, that on Saturday, he and a guy he knows that has a couple of high school kids that are into repairing tractors was going to run up to our uncle’s place in Minnesota and bring back the two tractors that the uncle has.

One of the tractors is the standard issued “Farmall 806”.  The 806 was built 1963-1967 and every farmer in my town had that and that’s one of the tractors that “Farmer Dave” had when I worked for him.

The other tractor is a “Farmall Super C”.  My brother is all excited about having this tractor because it was actually purchased by our grandfather in about 1953.

I was only 5 in this picture, but I remember riding on the side of the tractor as my dad drove it out to our woods to dig up that tree and plant it at home.

My brother needs a tractor because the county assessor is a royal cunt and they are cracking down on the tax breaks for “farmettes”.  So he actually has to have “X” amount of land in production (including his chicken/egg production) to qualify for the exemption

Well, being that it was Saturday, it was “Saturday night pizza night”

Except with the headache Saturday, I just wanted to eat something and there was no pizza.

Sunday was freaking cold !!!!!!!!

I had to walk outside a couple of times and it was freaking cold !!! At least the wind wasn’t blowing.

I spent the day inside puttering around.

Changed the furnace filter

Cleaned the bathroom vent

Cleaned out the drain in the bathroom sink:

No one washes their hair in the bathroom sink, so how the #@&! does so much hair go down the drain?????

Been quite and normal.

Well, being that it was Saturday, it was “Saturday night pizza night”

I did two smaller, round pizzas instead of one rectangular one.

For the time being, Animal Magnetism will be going on hiatus. Every post already up will remain up. I’m not shutting down the site. I’ll never give up the URL, which I’ve had for over 20 years. I will almost certainly pop in from time to time with big news, announcements, or just a rant that I can’t post elsewhere. But now, for the time being, regular weekly posts will cease.

So, I will be needing to replace one of my usual Sunday links.

A very fine long weekend (and much needed)

I took the 2nd and the 5th off as well.

It was funny on New Year’s Eve at work, some of the younger ladies that were new, were expecting a short day like Christmas Eve…..  They were much disappointed to find out that NYE is a regular working day…..  Welcome to the real world kiddos…..

My NYE was the usual, in bed by 9pm.

New Year’s Day was spent moving mom into her new apartment.

All in all, it went very well.  At times, it’s like herding cats with her.

Well, being that it was Saturday, it was “Saturday night pizza night”

Except there was no pizza.  The in-laws had us over Saturday evening for steak which was surprisingly well !!

Meatlumps were on sale again for 99 cents/lb

15lbs for under $14.00.

A good part of Sunday was spent processing and cooking the meatlump.

This will go far for lunches and dinners this week.  Only the pork chops were put in the freezer.

A very fine long weekend (and much needed)

Got to leave work at noon on Christmas Eve and took the 26th of for a four day weekend.

Got home Wednesday from work and cooked a nice 2 bone rib roast.  We didn’t eat it for a dinner, but I sliced up what I could for sammiches and the rest I cut up for dinner/snacks.

Roasts were on sale for $6.99 lb but I also had a 20% off coupon so I ended up paying $5.28 lb.  I should have bought 2 but I didn’t want to drop another $30………..

That made some really great sammiches !!!!!!

The wife was out most of the day and instead of making her homemade dough, she brought home some store bought dough.  It wasn’t as good as the homemade, but not bad and a fair change.  I also didn’t have any pepperoni so this was just a 3 cheese pizza.

Who has experience with Retinal vein occlusion and lisinopril?

The wife just had her first injection for RVO and suggested seeing the GP about the high blood pressure (not prescribed lisinopril yet).  She’s under 60 and 50 lbs overweight…..

I told her that being medicated is not healthcare but she won’t listen to me about diet and losing weight.
