XMAS and eve was pretty low key for me. we didn't even put up the chrismas tree.

on eve had a girl's nite with Aily + Duwey + Aunt Rita + lala then had a late supper at SoHo with the Mr.

XMAS nite went to missy's xmas party! Haw waz in da house! Ahhh ... he didn't change at all, still the same ole Haw! he's done pretty good work this past year check out his blog http://hawding.blogspot.com for some visual candy!

Mitabang Homestay Home Cooking!

not really a vegetable lover but after having some of these yummies i think i can make it as a vegetarian after all~ at least for a day! (im a seafood and meat lover after all! nya~nya!)

this is my fourth time sampling mitabang homestay's home cooking. i visited their homestay twice and last year and this time we ( organiser and officials of 4M Kiulu challenge ) were treated to lunch by them ; 0

the above in clockwise are rebung ( not sure : p ) pineapple shoot and nasi himpit ( rice with filling ~ potato, yams etc) below is fish ( im not sure how it was cook ...) but its really good!

unidentified chronicles

being the timekeeper for 4M is not exactly the 'most' challenging job assignment i've had. in fact it involves a lot of waiting.... and waiting. luckily this time around i'm assigned to 'look after' the student volunteers so i had some fun bullying them. ehehe.

i got bored nuff to have spotted this unidentified creature. so i shot it. anyone knows what insect this is? its actually very tiny and i had to spend some time on this cos i didn't bring my macro lenses. it just shed its skin. gross!!

4M kiulu bamboo challenge

clockwise : rin and clare, perez, the rafting event.

its an annual event which i either participate as a competitor or just be one of the official taking care of the event. basically its an event where you have to run, raft then drift on a bamboo then run a little more and then you come to finale event where you have to walk on bamboo stilts.

last year NeuNeu and i crashed onto a fallen tree trunk because we lost control of the bamboo raft and was shooting to fast and too hard on the rushing river and then...KABOOM! smacked into the tree and overturned. the raft was literally stuck somehow to the tree and my leg got caught under the raft until NeuNeu dislodge it somehow (actually i don't know what was happening after the crash but this is what i figured :p) and i was free!!! but the raft is still stuck to the tree and at this point me and NeuNeu really didn't give a damn bout it cos the part where we crashed bit rough although shallow i couldn't even stand up; the moment i got free i started drifting away quickly. NeuNeu and i did a quick drama sketch of a rescue scene. finally we got to the river side and decided to forfeit. so folks, thanks to NeuNeu i'm still alive with only light injuries!

so everyone, understand why this year i am the evil sista who is incharge of the student volunteer! ROAR! ehehehe. uwah, i talked a lot.

F2 Powerboat Championship 2007

not much to say bout this event, other than i was suffering the whole time i was there. it was suppose to be just two days but got dragged on to three cause of unfavorable weather conditions. i covered the 1st and 3rd day.

Day 1, which was a Saturday, dragged on for eternity! what bugged me the most was the waiting ... and waiting. oh hell i know, its mother nature's fault for being so inconsiderate as to be windy that day. grrr! ... alright, alright it was my fault for being hung over from Gaban's birthday aramaitii. luckily Rayner + Eddie was there to keep me from boredom.

Day 3, we were late and the finale race stated after i got there. this part i don't mind although it hot nuff to fry eggs. the least favorite kind of assignment is prize presentation! all those photographers pushing and shoving to get the best possible picture ... lil ol me gets crushed! not to mention it was a an exceptionally scorching day and it was unfortunately my first day of *&%# , you know ....

oh well, it was pretty interesting despite all that i wish i could have been in the mood to enjoy it better.

virgilia, on a friday afternoon ....

the most recent photo shoot, shooting portraits. its a hobby i guess. the weather these days just don't permit outdoors shoots. i wish there were more guys that would volunteer :(

i'm really happy though that i got some girlfriends who's wiling to pose for me.

the location. hmmm, i should really research the actual name of the building and its history. theres a lot of talk about this abandoned building and its been like that since i could remember as a kid. recently it got fresh paint and suddenly graffiti started appearing. don't know whats the plan for this building and thats why i wanted to do the shoot the soonest possible before anything else happens.

this is virgilia. it took me a while to remember her name, for some reason i keep calling her victoria! anyway i asked her to pose for me sometime ago but the weather has been gloomy all along so one fine afternoon the sun decided to play :) we only had 1/2 hour to spare, too bad we couldn't wait for the sunset. but i'm happy with it as it is : )

A wedding ~ otto & amy

finally tied the knot! Otto + Amy!

it seems to me that love is in the air and wedding bells are goin ding dong like crazy. i've wind of it earlier but only at present moment, when things calmed down, this is the time when you feel the change.



i love church weddings. but i get embarrassed that my eyes won't obey my brains command to remain dry, they start overflowing when the bride walked down the aisle.



i was a little bit late for otto's + amy's church ceremony so i missed all that! drat! i didn't get a picture too! but it went well. the funniest thing is dean caught the flowers. doesn't that beat all?



there were two night receptions, in hyatt and in angler's. the boys were really noisy + naughty at hyatt and noyod really got smashed and became mr. octopus but only to su~chan. nya~ha~ha! otto got smashed too and did his signature momoh dance! har!har!har! but noyod was worse off. ehehe. its tough to be the best man! but it was a really a merry do! @ angler's the following sat, was more subdued and the couple wore traditional wear. awww! he!he!

its a little bit lonely when you friend sets out a new life journey and while you are still clinging to the life of a tree trunk (sebatang kara, am i saying this right? hahaha!) . its like a game you play that you have to go through certain stages till you complete the game. they've leveled up and you're still in first stage. they get on this boat, set sail and wave back at you but actually they are not actually waving but calling you to hurry up and get on the boat. ... the thing is.... i really don't want to get on that boat.

scuze, the sappiness. happens sometimes, i'm really happy for them, they looked really good together. Amy is a relative of mine and otto is my partner in crime, i wish them every happiness.

Doulos!

my favourite floating bookstore is back!

i heard from somewhere from someone that it'll be the last trip to this port :( .... awww! too bad ... although, i only look forward to doulos coz of the classics books that can't be found in local stores and don't cost a fortune. but seems like all that i want , i've acquired over the years. thanks doulos!



since this is the last time i thought i'd take in the dinnertime show ... well, i don't want to put down doulos's hard work but i couldn't really say that it was great, because its exactly the opposite. or mebbe i'm just used to ...ummm, something better. was it interesting?, nnnh, i guess in a way. i laughed (i should say snickered) a lot during the show because the lady doing the malay translation was really ... well, it kinda sucked actually. but she was nice and it entertained me for five minutes. after that, its just annoying. we left halfway thru the show.

correct me if i'm wrong, these artworks were done by kids in commemoration of doulos's visit. these are the best two that i like, kids can do these kinda things now? yikes, its still the stick figure for me at this age :p

anyhow, come again doulos, its still great buying your books!

eventho i enjoy meeting the family, raya has lost its meaning since mom's (grandma, not to be confused wid mommy) gone.

used to get all excited wen @this time with my new baju kurung or kebaya or even kedah, we'd always had an open house, but now i just wear jeans and we celebrate @ other ppl's house. just not the same. gets worse every year.

i absolutely adore mom's kuih makmur. miss dem so much dat i baked dem myself. luckily i helped her often nuff to memorize d recipe. its somewhat touched n go cos mom never did use measurement. din bake any dis year.


i'm a little sad but still happy enuff to spend a little time with family. in dis yea portraits ....

u. sven + a. mina, i remember wen i was in high school i sneaked into rocky (a popular club then) n bump into dem. a humiliating nite, i choked on 'promise me'. de never tol mom or mommy! ehehe, lucky!

u. sven is my fav uncle! he let's me do wutever, ever since i was a little gal n knows me the best. only he can make me cry!

a. mina is also fun loving, its hard to get a good picture of her tho, she's too conscious n always moves at the crucial time!

remember 'come and get your love' @ damai? it was mother's day but ... ummm ... where was my mommy? eheheh. i showed up @ her office a teensy weensy minute wen i was 17 n somehow manage to get 2 admirers, it was fun flirtin wid dem over d fon. i ended up goin out wid one of em ... for a day. i still see him around town these days, he works nearby :)

she's also a bookworm like me. i tink she's read my entire library at least twice.

i think she is my prettiest aunty! actually, all my aunt were babes wen de were younger, i saw their pictures :) wish i coulda take their portraits!


ani, cousin~in~law. we hardly see each other, so it was a treat. kk bein such a small place n all, its a wonder y we never bump into each other more. i bump into ppl dat i dun like all the time. its a mystery. the last time we met was wen i was on the mega sale assignment and i was shooting at karamunsing. @ dat time i had cropped hair dat was sum yrs ago, so she's probably shocked 2 see me now! she on d other hand, hardly changed at all, whats her secret i wonder, she's gotta be almost forty right?

its another year gone without her.



little by little, it gets less harder to visit her grave. words always fail me when it matters the most, but she could hear it from my heart right? so, its okay right?

Mommy's energetic moon cake festival performance!

i remember when in school i use to dance a lot. mommy always comes to all of my dance performance. this time its my turn to check out mommy's moves :)



i adore moon cakes but this is the first time that i attended the festival. all over sabah, many moon cake festival activities are being held throughout the month. this one is special cos it's mommy's first ever public performance !



there were also lots kawaii kids performing in the festival. this little girl (the grumpy looking one) really reminds me of me! and the little boy next to her reminds me of ritz. oh, how i miss those days!


anyhow, great performance mommy! too bad it rained!

Otto~Happy Birthday!

its otto's birthday today! its funny, it was us who were clowning around :P we treated him to lunch at the imperial delight, for the life of me i can't understand why we didn't take pictures!

USS Pinckney Destroyer

life aboard the USS Pinckney Destroyer is pretty interesting. Ms Abigail Hutchins who is an officer on board thinks so too. traveling to all the places she's been sounds nice. i like travelling !

i used to think that it'd be all grays and blues on board, but theres a lot of colors to be seen. they even have smoothies. not bad at all.

Scottish Beachside Wedding @ Beriggis Beach Resort

this assignment was a pleasure. i don't usually do weddings but for friends and family i'd be happy to, but this is a different matter altogether.



the couple and family invited us to their wedding ceremony and allowed us to use the picture we've taken to be used in our promotions. nice of them right?



it was a really sweet and touching ceremony ....



i sort of for a moment there had a wish to have my own beach wedding ... just for a moment okay ... don't get excited!


the weather was great for an afternoon affair like this ... it was a perfect wedding !

Anjapar Chettinand Restaurant @ Asia City Complex

the night my mouth exploded with flavors! now i'm definitely a chili gal, that is to say , i like spicy food ~ i'm tellin you Anjapar's takes hotness to whole different level. yumminess with a whole lotta punch!

Missy may not look like it but truth is her tongue is actually on fire! its burning! hahaha! seriously i enjoyed it and i've since come back for more torture. i'm into s + m don't ya kno ... a true blue masochist! naw, naw, naw just kiddin (not about the s+m) the torture ba, torture! its really delicious and they tell me they can tone it down (huh? why...???) esp for peeps who like less hot (wimps).

i was on the job twice @ anjapar. its cause the nite lighting does not really meet my criteria so we had another one. a lunch shoot. aren't i lucky? like i said, sometimes this job is da bomb!

that nite missy, juls, Mr. and i ate the fiery indian cuisine with gusto. there were several dishes but for the life of me i can't remember the names (ehehe, isn't that just like me?). just to let you know my pick is the lamb briayani. can't beat that! of course i must also have my naan on the side ... crap! talking about it makes me hungry!

try it out dudes, great atmosphere, great food and great price, what else do ya need?

Floral Parade ~ Team Agamid

it was such a fun event! so many beautiful flower in all possible colors! it was held in putrajaya in january. we were there for a week for preparation, the judging and parade day and also the static display afterwards!



it was my first time participating in a floral parade and i learned a lot. the work hours sucked but it was so much fun at the same time that i didn't mind it so much. i'll talk more bout my whole experience later!



for now, three cheers for team AGAMID!




well, its not first place but we are still very happy that we got the theme trophy! YAY!

this was a photo shoot that i did for a competition. I LOST!! or rather, i didn't win. ouch! there goes my confidence. so thats why i had put in some effort for this shoot, more than usual and some $$$. though i didn't win any prize, it was worth the experience. worth the experience. worth it. yup.

and my model, cousin aily : ) she is very easy to work with and she can 'tahan' my bitchiness. ehehe.



this is combining two of my hobbies, nature and photography. fun!
