Introducing Maxwell Tyler Barney

Our sweet little Max was born Tuesday February 19th at 8: pm. I was actually scheduled to be induced this day but when they called to have me go in that morning I told them I wasn't going to go in. I did not want to be induced. I had a Dr. appointment scheduled for that afternoon anyway. So I decided I would just go to that as usual. I packed my bag for the hospital and had it in my car already. I'm glad I did that because when I went to the Dr. I had high blood pressure and they were going to send me over to the hospital. This had happened a few weeks previously and I just lay down for a while and it went back down. This time however it was not going down, so the Dr. said I needed to be induced. So I called my Dad to see if he could come down and stay with the kids. Luckily Tyler works just a few minutes form the hospital. He was able to come right over, after a quick stop at Kathryn's house to borrow her camera. He got there as they were just getting hooking me up to the pitocin. The contractions started pretty quick after that and they were HARD! This labor was definitely my most painful and difficult. I had never experienced the intensity and pain that I experienced in any of my other labors. There were times when I really wondered if I could make it through this. The nurse decided to take me off the pitocin and it was long that Max started to come. It was quick I couldn't even tell her I was ready to push when the urge came with such intensity and pain I really couldn't even communicate, but she saw the look on my face and knew. She called the doctor in. By this time I was so exhausted after the intense labor I pushed with what strength I had left. Max got stuck for a moment, I took a quick break and they told me to push again. I remember saying," I don't think I can." but I knew I had to. Once more I pushed and my sweet little Max was born. What is most amazing is all these feelings of and emotions of the pains of labor were immediately dissipated as i held my baby boy. What an amazing experience to go through such intensity and then be overcome with joy and love.

Disneyland

We had an AWESOME trip to California. But the trip didn't start out so great. We left right after Tyler got off work to head down to Cedar City and spend the night and Jeff an Jenny's before we hit the road to Cali. We hurriedly got everything packed up so we would be ready when Ty got home from work. I thought I had everything. However on Saturday morning at Jeff an Jenny's I realized I did not have the travel bag I had packed, with extra snacks, medicines, and of course our tickets to Disneyland and SeaWorld. We called out neighbor who built our home to see if he could get into our home, we weren't very hopeful because Tyler had went around and made sure all the windows and doors were locked. Darin tried the back door first then went around the front door and went right in. Apparently the bolt hit the plate on the door and did not latch. Long story short he found the bag with our tickets and gave them to Tyler's brother who overnighted them to our hotel in California. They got there just in the knick of time Monday morning and we picked them up at the front desk on our way to Disneyland. Phew!! Sunday we found a meetinghouse and went to sacrament meeting, then went to Newport Beach. It was a great day the kids loved looking for seashells, and tried to stay out of the water. We spent the nest 2 days at Disneyland and California adventure. Then tok a break from the parks and went to the beach for the day. We rented a boogie board and the kids all had a blast riding the waves, building sandcastles, and being buried by mom and dad in the sand. then we went baack for one more day @ the parks. We traumatized all out kids(except Layton) on Splash Mtn, but really enjoyed it. Kinsley & Madison LOVED It's a Small World, and the Ariel ride, and LOVED the parade. Everytime they saw a princess the would shout, "Hi, Belle", "Hi Ariel", it was so magical for them. Layton loved the Jedi training and battling Darth Vador. Sydney and all the kids really liked Pirates of the Caribean.Everyone LOVED cars lans and al th rides there, especially Mater's Junkyard, and Radiator Springs Racers. And of course we all loved World of Color, we met lots of characters, and were all worn out at the end of each day. ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage Then we spent the day at Sea World. The shows were so fun to watch, we rode a few rides, and Layton even went on the MantaRay rollercoaster with me. The kids like seeing all the animals, but we were all a little let down after Disneyland. But it was still fun!ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage Lastly, on our way we drove right through Temeula, where Mason was serving his mission. I so badly wanted to find his apartment, but my older brothers and Tyler who had all served missions said that I should so we just pulled off the exit and took a picture to send to Mason to prove we were there. I guess Tememcula is a pretty big place, who would have thought we would pull off the exit drive a ways then turn on the street where Mason lived! We had no idea, and didnt get to see him but it was fun to know I was close to him. All in all it was a great trip!! We loved having the family time and being together and cant wait until we can do it again!! ImageImage
