Nuke Ky-walka

Much to Brandon's dismay, Kurt has a new nickname for his brother. While we were visiting in Washington, my sister and her husband (Nick and Emma) decided to teach Kurt that Luke's middle name was Sky Walker.
So, he'll sometimes talk about his brother and call him Nuke Ky-Walka. Or, if prompted -
"What's brother's name?"
"Nuke"
"Luke what?"
"Nuke Ky-Walka!"

I'll get some video footage up shortly...

Sassy

Brandon was teasing me about something the other day and I gave him the death look and said, "Stop sassing me!" Kurt looked up at us, stopped playing with his toys and said, "Sassy? Where go?" And begun looking for his "sassy" or pacifier. We couldn't stop laughing :)

The Other Reason for our Trip

My little brother Dan got home from his mission to Kiev, Ukraine the end of March - Emma and I came to town for a little family reunion. It may be awhile before we're all together again.

Dan kept getting caught with the "ugly face" on as he put it...

Hogle Zoo

The Lion Drinking Fountain - Grrrr!

This elephant "sneezes" water out his nose - Kurt was afraid, but we all thought it was really cool

You can't tell from Kurt's face in these pictures, but these were his 2 favorite animals. The Leopard kept pacing back and forth (I think it was feeding time) and scaring all the kids as he walked past them. Whenever he'd walk past Kurt, he'd laugh/scream and back way up from the window. But then he'd go right back up and wait for him to come back again. :)

And I have no idea what this other one is (maybe a Meekrat) because I didn't want to go in the reptile house, but Brandon said he loved this guy too. He just kept laughing at him.

ImageImageAnd of course we had to ride the train. Our little "choo choo" engineer :)

"All Aboard!"

This is a fun furniture store in Washington. It's full of trains, so we brought Kurt down. Needless to say, he was ecstatic!
Image He's up on the play train here, watching all the trains driving along up on the ceiling tracks

Luke's little admirer

Image Charlotte just loved Luke! If he was on the floor, she was all over him.

Salt Lake Temple / Wedding

One of the 2 reasons for our trip
was to be there for Brandon's brothers wedding. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple on May 31, 2008. I was doing video footage for them, so sadly I have no snapshots of any of it. I'll add them when we get the pictures back from Lani.

Image
Kurt was a little tired at this point and we couldn't get him to smile when we asked him too

Image
but Luke was all smiles that day :)

Seattle

Image We took the Bremerton Ferry over to Seattle

Image

Image
Kurt loved being on the boat on the water!

Image Playing at the fountain (Seattle Center) It was a little too big for Kurt - he was slightly weary

Image
ImageIt seems like this was the only sunny day while we were there. It was nice to have some sunshine.

Blessing Day

We blessed Luke at the Bascom home in Provo, UT on June 1, 2008 with the Bascom family. It was extra special to be able to have his middle namesake there and participating in the blessing. Great Grandpa William S. Brothers is a wonderful man. He has held a special place in my heart in the short time I've known him. We hope we can raise Luke well enough so that he can follow in Grandpa's footsteps. It is an honor for Luke to be named after such a man.

Guess who

My sister-in-law has done this with her kids and I thought it was fun (and hard). So, who is who?
