All owing to my sister Emma, here is the coolest pirate ship table you've ever seen :)
The party store didn't have the supplies (pirate bandana's, eye patches and earrings) I was counting on, so we had to go with our back up plan - newspaper hats. They didn't turn out very well, but we did what we could.
We had some lunch on the ship deck before we started our games.
"Arg! I'm Captain Luke!"
We played "Pin the flag on the treasure"
And had a treasure hunt...
...to find the pinata!
As "safe" as the pull strings are, I've never had one actually work that opened the pinata
So Dad helped out a bit
Luke was catching the loot in his hat :)
I made the "cake" out of cookies and such. We'd been a bit cake'd out and I didn't want another batch of cupcakes at my house. We also added some little pirate guys to make it more fun.
My flags and masts didn't want to cooperate very well so they didn't make the final cut
But I don't think Luke minded. He enjoyed blowing out his cannon ball.
He was more excited for presents this time
