laugh out loud

like i've said before, modern family is a favorite.
this week there was a classic one liner from manny that literally took me a few minutes to recover from. so hilarious..."she's like a dream, wrapped in a wish, poured into jeggings." --manny i mean isn't that what you picture a twelve year old boy saying about a girl he has a crush on?!

and just in time for the oscars:

enjoy the weekend, and take time to laugh out loud!

tagged.

well i've never been tagged before so this is pretty exciting. (or maybe i have been but never actually followed through with it).

here are 11 questions my good friend cheri tagged me in on her blog:

1. What is your favorite TV show? modern family. why? because it's hilarious. any TV show that can make me laugh out loud is obviously great.  taking close seconds are the cosby show, gilmore girls and NBC Nightly News.

2. Would you ever go on a reality show? What would it be? i think reality TV is pretty trashy. i've never been way into it. but i guess if i had to i would go on something like "undercover boss" (is that considered reality TV?) first i would have to become a CEO of some company though so...it's a work in progress.

3. If you had to listen to one CD for the rest of your life, what would it be? james taylor's one man band. really people. this is a classic and pretty much sums up my childhood. i love the simplicity of the live guitar and piano. add on the background choir on "my traveling star" and i'm hooked for life. literally. i don't ever get sick of JT.

4. What is the first thing you notice in someone of the opposite sex? their smile and consequently their attitude toward life.  i just like a man who isn't afraid to smile often and be happy and positive even when things aren't that great. (too much to ask?)

5. What is your dream job? working in the office of laura bush. (i'll admit... i'm still semi-obsessive). but a more realistic dream job would be to work for a non-profit organization planning fundraising events and assisting with media relations. i want to help people help people!

6. What was your first impression of me? ohhh cheri. i remember meeting you outside the SUU cabin before PA retreat. you were playing the guitar and singing and i immediately thought we could be friends. i remember being impressed with your songwriting abilities too! little did i know how absolutely hilarious you are. (that didn't come until later...leadership weekend anyone? pigs eating out of a trough..."i've never seen such outbursts from you!")

7. Do you decorate for the holidays? do i ever! the truth is, since being at college i've never decorated my own house or room, but i love the traditions surrounding decorating at home. the day after thanksgiving my family goes to my grandma's house and brings up all of her decorations out of her christmas room. thats right, she has a whole separate storage room just for her christmas decorations. we listen to christmas music and spend the rest of the day setting out nutcrackers and santa's, red glass ornaments and greenery. then we do it all over again at my mom's the next day. my mom has at least one decoration bin for every month of the year. for example, january is snowmen/snow decor february is valentines day, august is watermelon, september is back to school etc. etc. so i've definitely learned from the best when it comes to decorating for holidays.

8. How many people have you kissed?  one.

9. What is your favorite book to reread? the harry potter series. it never gets old! everytime i reread one i fall in love with the brilliant characters all over again!

10. If you had to teach someone about any major historical event, what would you choose? probably 9/11. even though it has many complexities,  that day was a defining moment for my generation and has definitely affected the world we live in today and the world my children will live in in the future. the effects of 9/11 are so far reaching that i think it would be important to teach someone about it.

11. How would your parents describe you? i think my parents would describe me as an optimist and someone who is energetic, thinks big and tries to be bold.  interestingly enough, that is really how i think would describe myself. they are very trusting of me and i appreciate that about them. i'm grateful that they have allowed me to define myself and learn for myself.

Alright, well i'm not very familiar with how this tagging thing is supposed to work, but i guess if you'd like to join in feel free! it's actually pretty fun to answer these very random questions. (brynn and brytt, i am very interested to know your first impressions... haha)

2. Brynn
3. Sydnie
4. Mabel
5. Angelee (you haven't been on your blog in forever...maybe this will inspire you).
