I AM SO PROUD OF MY COUNTRY RIGHT NOW. PRESIDENT OBAMA. MARRIAGE EQUALITY. AND A LESBIAN SENATOR GETTING ELECTED. AND ASSHOLES WHO DON'T UNDERSTAND RAPE NOT GETTING ELECTED. I'm so fucking proud. For the first time in quite a while, I really feel like progress is possible, like we are fundamentally moving forward and not back.

I LOVE EVERYONE IN THIS BAR. I'm going to go to bed as soon as OUR NEWLY REELECTED PRESIDENT says something, but I will leave you with my election night J2 fic from four years ago, which is dated but the feelings are similar. <3

I spent an hour writing a letter, and then my browser ate it in a fit of pique, so for now here are my general likes, copied from last year and the year before: "I like character-centric stories. I like getting into the heads of characters I like and seeing how they experience and think about things. I never turn down a good plot, but I'm generally more interested in people and relationships.

"I like humor. I like banter. I like people overcoming obstacles. I like stories about personal agency. I like strong women. I don't like character-bashing or making characters one-dimensional for plot purposes. I don't like infidelity of any kind. I like hopeful endings. I like porn, but I don't want you to feel obliged to write me any."

I promise the fandom-specific stuff will follow. But basically, I love the characters I requested, and anything you have to say about them and their relationships (romance, friendship, family) would be so welcome. <3

Avengers came out on DVD today, so OBVIOUSLY I bought and watched all the special features while eating ice cream and having feelings about Bruce Banner. And then I remembered I wrote this story for azephirin and never posted it.

I realized I never actually posted this here because I am a genius. (Also, LJ was doing this weird thing where when I went to my flist or other places, it showed me I was logged in, but when I went to make a post it took me to the home page and asked me to either create a journal or log in with OpenID. No "Sign in" option at all. Has this happened to anyone else? I logged out from my friends page and then back in, and it was fine, but wtf.)

He’s not looking for a relationship, and he’s definitely not gay.

Then he meets Jared, a short-order diner cook and exactly the kind of guy Jensen’s used to hooking up with once. But Jared loves Jensen’s stories about the places he passes through, and before long they’re talking on the phone all the time, and Jensen’s looking forward to jobs that take him through Jared’s part of Indiana.
