Abram English Brown devoted the entirety of his life to Bedford’s improvement. He is perhaps best known for his exhaustive 1891 history of Bedford.
Among his many deeds, Brown was a co-founder of the Bedford Free Public Library Corporation in 1876 and thereafter a loyal trustee until his death in 1909.
