Vintage and Jewelry made by Erica
I have always love Vintage Things may it be from Furniture, Clothing to Jewelry . I have been inspired by many different people and many different Work Shops that I have attended, I have learned something new every single time. Much of my Love of Jewelry has come from within my heart, I worked in the Aviation Business for many years but always had a collection of Vintage things and of course Jewelry. I purchased Vintage Jewelry to add to my Etsy store and Have fallen in love with it and can not part with them but they are my inspirations for my Jewelry making . I look and touch them often they truly inspire love for what I make and my choices of color pallet is often from looking at these pieces.

I love working with my hands and specially if I am going to make something beautiful. Making Jewelry is a labor of Love. The joy of being able to create Jewelry and to have another person admire it , makes me feel as if I have give some joy to that person that receives it.

At this stage of my life I have a wonderful family Three Angels , two girls and one boy. they are the apple of my eyes. These Picture makes me smile all the time. The first silly one is of my Daughters Birthday and my son indulges her by wearing the heart glasses to make her happy and the second picture is at Christmas 2015 . They are partners in Crime! I love to hear them laugh and be silly at all times of the day because I know that they are loving each other and that makes my life wonderful and inspires me to create pretty Jewelry . Laughter and Love just fills my soul with creative juices..

My education in Life and my love of Vintage and Jewelry making by Erica ( me) has come from the school of Hard Knocks! I
Vintage Jewelry was easy for me to learn about so many books to read and so many antique stores to go to and to learn from. So I guess I was self educated in that fields but when it came to learn how to make Jewelry that is another story :
How did I learn to make Jewelry Easy as making a pie ( ha ha ) I can’t cook a thing, I tend to burn everything . Poor kids, but they have made it this far without starving .
Yes I had to do what we all do at one time or another to expand our knowledge I finally took some classes : Wiring class, Bead work, Making earrings, Making necklace, Soldering, sketch classes, oil painting class. seed beading class with wire and string, working with African beads and silk, Learning new knotting Techniques, Crimping, Working with various paints, Working with different texture, Different metal, soldering, Colorization Techniques, Artisan, working with Stone and Vintage Jewelry and so much more.
I would love to hear your comments, sign in and let me know what is on your mind?

3rd and Final BALC for the this class of 2016
I have had so much fun working with this class and our Teacher,
I have learned more than I ever expected and have had so many
Aha moments! I am so very glad that Brenda said take notes and journal
your thoughts, I really can not believe how many things I had not even
considered I just jumped in to Jewelry making and did not put a thought in to it.
It was just a hobby and I gave some of my jewelry as gifts and then I had
friends that placed orders and Wala ! I started an Etsy Store and have never looked back
it has not been easy but this class has certainly made me aware of so many mistakes that
I was making and the most interesting thought came to my mind that all I was learning could be applied to just about any business you want to start. The basics, the plan, the inventory, the marketing and so many other things that I learned. I even learned how to keep inventory of what I would need to have a Jewelry Line and so much more.. Must take this class if you if you have the opportunity.
I want to say thank you to our Host Host Brenda Sue

2nd BALC Blog Hop Friday February 26, 2016 Friday
When I signed up for this class I truly did not expect to have to work so hard , do not expect to work so hard in understanding my self and what I truly want to do with my Jewelry making.
Well I must admit this class has really made my brain strain! We have learned so many things and I have had those moments when my brains screams ( Stop!) but who listen to the brain any way ? So I just kept on learning, I think I may have a learning allergy at this time of my life. Hmmmm I will ponder that later , I will get back to you on that one.
Every Morning when I opened my eyes and I thank God first for anther day of life with my family and friends then I start plotting my jewelry design and apply what I have learned , for example we have learned about different eras’ of jewelry and there names , how trending magazines influence our jewelry and who it will sell to, price pyramid , who do want to sell your jewelry to , is this a hobby or something I want to make money on and so much more, how to inventory if you are making a jewelry line and soooooo much more. I had many brain freeze moments. I am making this class sound like boot camp and yes it has been on the my brain but I would not have missed it for anything . My suggestion is if our host Brenda Sue from (https://www.bsueboutiques.com/default.asp ) offer another class next year , my advise is sign up immediately do not think it thru just jump in and do it. No regrets just a lot of brain stretching exercise and in this the 2nd BALC I am a better person and have more of an idea of what I want and do not want with my Jewelry.
Please take the time to visit my Class mates on there Blog and leave a remark
we have all worked so hard , it nice to know that someone cares about our journey.

I am so Happy to have been accepted to this class. I will be going on a journey of building a line of jewelry. I have so many ideas flowing through my head , I can hardly get some sleep. Our teacher will be Brenda Sue Lansdowne from Bsue Boutiques https://www.bsueboutiques.com/default.asp, our banner is below , she has the Best Brass stamping in the world in my opinion.
