Mission Call!!

 Camille and I drove to school to the most gorgeous sunrise we have ever seen! It was Heavenly Mother in all of her glory, and it was fortuitous start to a terrific day!

Around noon, Audra texted me-  her mission call came! We were not expecting this as we thought for sure it would be another week, even though is has been 23 days which has felt like forever.

Ben and I did a conference call with her around 3 to see what she wanted to do. We were OK with her opening it right then with us, and then doing a bigger reveal later, or whatever she wanted.

She said she thought she could make it to 8:45 so she could get her friends together and open it with her friends. So, she invited all her friends, while I sent a text to over 100 people inviting them. At 8:45 we anxiously gathered, with over 50 people/groups on Zoom and she had over 20 in person. She read her call: Brasilia, Brazil!

                                         

Brazil was nowhere on our radar! But, she is so incredibly excited. Ben and I are nervous, but we are going to trust God. It's hard to be too nervous while we are seeing her excitement. She has two friends in Brazil right now, so that is nice. She needs to renew her passport and we need to get her a Visa, but it will all be OK. We will get it figured out. 

We know a lot of people getting called to Texas, which she was NOT excited about! So she may just be glad that she isn't going there ;)

We played an on-line guessing game where people could put their guesses. Out of roughly 100 guesses, one person got it correct- Zoe Friloux, and old friend from the Marsden Lake Ward.

Sister Marriott is going to be an absolutely incredible missionary! We can't fully grasp that this is really happening.

Last Breakfast

 Before Ben took her to the airport (I'm still mad at him about this), I took the girls out for breakfast. Then I went to work and Ben took Audra to the airport. It was very sad to send her back! We miss her so much already!

Lunch Date!

 Audra and I went to lunch with some of her band friends from high school and their parents. It was fun to catch up. Everyone is doing really well, and all four did marching band at their college.

Temple

 We went with Mackenzie for her first time going through the temple. It was a great day!

2026 Predictions

 1. Audra will be on a mission to.....Kansas (Claire), Salt Lake Temple ASL (Christina), New York City ASL (Audra), Texas (Camille), Florida (Ben)

2. Broncos vs. Seahawks in the Superbowl- Seahawks win!

3. Claire will have gone to Africa with HXP

4. Ben, Christina, and Camille go to WDW

5. New van for Christina

6. Claire has applied to BYU, Georgia, CSU, and Utah State

7. Claire is at the Legacy Campus for EMS

8. Camille is LOVING TRHS while doing basketball, ASL, and orchestra there

9. A snowstorm of 3 or more feet at some point

10. Trump will no longer be president

2025 Prediction Results

  1. Audra will be at BYU and loving it! YES! She says her favorite part is the friends she has made!

2. Audra will make the BYU marching band and will be playing at a bowl game over Christmas break Yes, but then no

3. Claire will be swinging up to varsity basketball YES!

4. Camille will be playing RVMS basketball and will be back to her healthy, happy self YES

5. I will have a new car. Or a new kitchen. One of the two YES- new kitchen!!!

6. Claire will be signed up to go to Africa in summer of 2026 with HXP- No, but she is on the wait list. It took her FOREVER to finally decide she wanted to go, and by the time she finally decide the spots were full. Now it's in God's hands

7. Camille will be signed up for the 8th grade trip, wherever that is to YES- she's going to Japan in June!

8. Broncos make the play-offs YES!

9. We will ride Tiana's Bayou Adventure YES!- at least 5 times...maybe more

10. We will have a beautiful Celebration of Life to honor and remember Matt with friends and family YES

Meow Wolf

 For years we have wanted to go to Meow Wolf, and because the weather has been so warm (in the 70's), all "winter" type of activities were out, such as cross country skiing (which is what Ben wanted to do), so we decided to go to Meow Wolf. It is a trip! We didn't know what to expect, but this wasn't it. We are all glad we went.
