It's about time I updated my blog, although I really think I need to change the title now that our little Elsa bug is on scene. We're enjoying our summer so far. Lots of trips to the mountains and time together. My mom came out and I even got her to go rock climbing (after 20 years of nagging:) Jackson graduated from kindergarten at his montessori school. Cohen had a fun "ninja" birthday party, as you can see by the red ninja suit. Elsa is getting bigger and bigger, and in keeping with my kiddos, chubbier and chubbier. She is definitely a girl and loves to be pampered already.
I'm not working yet but I start a new job in a couple of weeks. I think I could get used to this stay at home thing! But I'm excited about this new job, and it will only be 2-3 days a week. I really love being a nurse because it allows me to be home as much as I am :)

Growing fast

Elsa is really growing fast! She's starting to fill out and fit in some of her clothes. Alex says that she's finally starting to look like an infant, not sure what that means. It is fun to see her becoming more alert and interactive. The boys love it too!

Elsa arrived March 7 at 7:00 am. She was 6#12oz and 18" long. She came 2 1/2 weeks early and decided to make her debut when Alex was out of town on a ski trip! I'm grateful for my mom because she listened to her mother's intuition and knew that I was going to have the baby. She sent Ginger to drive all night and she surprised me by being there to help me deliver Elsa. I'm so lucky to have such a great sister! Alex was disappointed but he rushed home and met Elsa a few hours after she was born.
We are so excited to have her with us. She's a wonderful baby so far. Jackson and Cohen love her and are so good with her.

Big news

Uncooperative + no noticeable boy parts = 80% sure it's a girl.

Halloween at Dillon Beach

Dillon Beach was so much fun again this year. I think that this is my favorite family tradition.

Cohen and Jackson spent many hours playing together on the beach and in the dunes and both got out and surfed a wave each.

Jackson and Cohen both wanted to be Star Wars guys again this year. Cohen wanted to be Darth Vadar but then rediscovered his Yoda costume from last year so I had to make a new one to fit him. Jackson was Obe Wan Kenobi. They got way too much candy trick-or-treating around the campground and in town. Luckily, mom and dad were willing to take some off of their hands.

Catching up

It's been a while since I last updated, but I don't think anyone expects much else from me :) We had a busy summer, with a trip to the Tetons and Yellowstone and a move from Truckee back to Reno. This fall has been busy as well. Jackson started Kindergarten at a new school.Image He's doing really well and loves the new things he's learning. Cohen is 3 now and loves being a big boy. He also seems to be enjoying the little bit of extra time he gets to spend with mom and dad while Jack's in school.

We have been spending a fair amount of time at Lake Tahoe. One of Alex's friends from work took us sailing one day. We sailed out to the middle of the lake and took a swim. ImageThe boys loved it, especially Jackson. I think he added "sailor" to the things he wants to be when he grows up.

We had to keep our eye on Cohen, he just wanted to go swimming (he's our little fish).Image

I'll try to update later this fall!ImageImage
