Welcome to Nutrition Services!

Beverly Hills Unified School District proudly participates in Provision 2, which means all students are eligible to receive one free breakfast and one free lunch each school day—at no cost to families.

In addition, California is leading the way in school nutrition with its Universal Meals Program.

California Universal Meals Program

Starting in the 2022–2023 school year, California became the first state in the nation to implement a statewide Universal Meals Program. This ensures that every student, regardless of income, receives two nutritious meals per school day—one breakfast and one lunch—free of charge.

This program builds upon the federal National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and School Breakfast Program (SBP) and reflects the state’s commitment to student wellness and academic success.

Elementary School Breakfast Update (2025–2026)

  • Breakfast will now be served indoors from 8:00 AM – 8:30 AM before school begins.
This change improves food temperature, quality, and helps reduce morning stress for families.
  • Breakfast will no longer be served during recess on the playground, encouraging students to focus on eating before school and playing during recess.

Kosher Lunch Meal Update (2025–2026)

  • Kosher Non-Dairy Lunch Meals will be prepared at the District's Kosher kitchen starting August 18th.
This change improves food quality and improves district oversight of kosher meals.
  • This is a very special program, BHUSD is the first in-house kosher meal program available to any public school. We are leading the way in providing NSLP compliant Kosher meals for all students.

Income Forms & Meal Applications

Although meal applications are not required under Provision 2 and California's Universal Meals Program, all families will complete an Income Form during the Data Confirmation process at the beginning of the school year. If a family’s income changes during the year, a new form may be submitted online at any time. Please use the “Meal Application” link in the website menu to access the form.

Adult & Staff Meals

  • Breakfast (Adult/Staff): $3.00
  • Lunch (Adult/Staff): $5.00

Only students are eligible to receive free meals under the Universal Meals Program. Adults and staff must pay for meals at the point of service.
