Spike's Hard Life/Permissions/HMD
Mar. 28th, 2031 06:56 pmSpike is a character from the TV Show Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Before the vampire Drusilla sired him in 1880, he was a poet called William Pratt and nicknamed William the Bloody because his poetry was so bloody awful. He's called Spike because he had a habit of torturing people with railroad spikes. He's a classy guy like that.
He was pretty badass for a while, then he got dumped and became a hollow shell of a loser. Then some government guys caught him and shoved a chip up his brain that zaps him with a migraine whenever he tries to hurt a living creature. Yeah, it sucks not being able to kill people.

[OOC]
Backtagging: I will tag you back until doomsday. X( I also get that sometimes threads need to be wrapped up/handwaved in order to move on, so let me know if that's the case.
Threadhopping: YES DEFINITELY.
Fourthwalling: Talk to me first! If your character would know who Spike is, it's probably all right.
Offensive subjects (elaborate): Can't think of any big ones.
[IC]
Hugging this character: ...he might punch the hugger, depending on who it is. But feel free to try!
Kissing this character: Again, punching may happen. But try away!
Flirting with this character: SO MUCH YES.
Fighting with this character: Well, he'll DEFINITELY punch you in that case. But he'll also enjoy it, so. Go for it.
Injuring this character (include limits and severity): Spike can heal from almost anything, so blanket permission for bruises and cuts etc. However, I draw the line at maiming or excessively brutal beatings. In that case, let me know.
Killing this character: DEFINITELY talk to me first.
Using telepathy/mind reading abilities on this character: Nope. He's a vampire, he's immune. It's Buffyverse canon. Talk to me if you think you've got an exception.
Warnings: He's violent and swears a lot?
[EXTRA STUFF]
If anyone has any aura sensing/undead sensing/whatever abilities, Spike is a vampire. I have no problem with characters who can know that kind of thing knowing it.
Also, How's My Driving! Got any constructive crit for me about my Spike portrayal? Let me know!

Chip Rules!
Jun. 25th, 2030 10:25 pmThe chip has some rules about what Spike can and can't hit... but due to plot convenience, they're bent or broken at various times. However, I've come up with some pretty basic rules for myself as to what registers as "alive" to the chip, and... well, it's still hard to tell sometimes but this sort of simples it up.
1. Is your character alive? If the answer is no, Spike can hit your character. YAY VIOLENCE!
2. Is your character a "real" creature? By this I mean, is your character an animal commonly found on the real, non-fictional planet of Earth? Or is your character some sort of alien or fantastic creature? If the answer to this one is no, Spike can hit your character. The chip forbids him from hitting living things, but it was made by human scientists that... don't consider demons etc to be alive. This can get grey around things like mutants/humans with ~specialness,~ but when in doubt... yeah, we can talk. Again, YAY VIOLENCE!
3. Has your character ever died, and if so, how did they come back to life? This is the REALLY tricky one. Spike can hit Buffy after she comes back from the dead because though she did not come back wrong, she did get the equivalent of a cellular sunburn that confused the chip. Yeah, the writers were pretty much making this up as they go along. So if your character has died and there's potential violence going on... yeah, definite talking needs to happen.

[On the way home from New York, while aggressively avoiding talking about Dumage.]
They say that fire hurts you with its touch,
But she flickers so enticingly at night.
I know if I approach she'll be too much,
And yet still I sit and wonder if I might.
When first she flickered into my frozen heart,
I found her spark alluring, craved her heat.
I thought her burning beauty was a work of art
And listened for the sound of her heart beat.
But flame will burn and burn consuming everything in sight.
Its warmth may call you forth to actions rash.
But heed me as I warn you of it's vicious bite!
Or you may find your frozen heart has burned itself to ash.
