Grand total of 1,466 graduates! Thank goodness we have this beautiful spacious new auditorium! I know we wouldn't have been able to fit in the tiny gym.
Look who graduated too! Mr. Colin McKay in accounting I think.
After commencement, we split into our different colleges to receive our fancy diploma (covers). Funniest thing i heard in commencement, "you will receive your diploma's in the mail after verifying your final semester..." Bahaha! makes sense but how sad would it be to fail your final semester? They even listed off the number of A's and F's earned by the graduating class, can't remember the numbers but it was a good laugh.
After meeting in the Taylor Chapel for convocation with the College of Education and Human Development, we were pleasantly surprised to see President Clark and the guest speaker, a member of the Seventy visit our college. We assumed we were here simply to hear a few words and then pass out our diploma's, but were "treated" with an additional 6-7+ speakers, including the two we had already heard from in commencement. Yikes, it was long (commencement was a good hour and a half), we were all eager when they announced it was time to line up.
Truthfully though, i about lost it though as they read my name and degree as i walk up. I just though about all the constant stress over the last 3 years, all the hard work put into this little paper with my name on it that now made me eligible to continue onward in my education to one day be a certified behavioral neurobiologist. It was an emotional moment. And I'm so proud to have made this accomplishment.
Afterwards we ran over to Pizza Pie Cafe (aka Craigos) and stuffed our hungry bellies (it was almost nine when we got out- we started at 5, well, me at 4). Packed up the next day, said my goodbyes, and tearfully left my college home. I didn't realize just how attached i'd become to my school, my little town, my ward family, and family of professors. They have all blessed me so much and i'm sure grateful for the time i was able to spend there.
Thank you Rexburg!
