Is Self Care Right For You? Simple Quick and Easy Self-Care Ideas for a Better Marriage
Of course each woman has a whole bunch of questions when they start out and dive into understanding the self care puzzle.
But if they can’t get the right answers at the start, most women will just surrender right away and quit.
Below you’ll find some simple self care tips and ideas that every woman needs to consider so she can succeed at better understanding the practice of self care for a better marriage.
The #1 key is to understand “The True Self Care Definition” and how it applies to you as a married woman.
The key to this for you is to ask the question, “What is self care?”
First, it’s important to understand that self care is NOT selfish!
Actually, it is the process of taking proactive steps to establish, promote, and maintain wholeness so you can bring your “A-game” in everything you do:
- Spiritually
- Relationally/Socially
- Physically
- Emotionally/Mentally
In fact, the most important thing to understand is that as a wife, you are constantly pulled in different areas. You are a wife, a mom, a friend, a co-worker (or CEO of caring for your household), a church member, etc. Each of these requires a portion of your time, energy, effort, and attention. And more than likely as a woman, you are naturally a nurturer which can automatically make you feel obligated to tend to each of these areas all the time. But in reality, you don’t!
However, if you don’t realize this, you will spend precious minutes or even hours of your day working on things and working with people who don’t value your time or efforts. As a result, this can cause you to get overwhelmed, frustrated, and ultimately break down because you haven’t had the necessary time to refuel and re-equip yourself. And you can become a cranky, unpleasant wife!
This is key for every woman, (even if you are future wife), because if you don’t practice self care on a consistent basis, you will ultimately self-destruct, and you will be good for nobody, including your husband, kids, co-workers, ministry, and or anything else.
It’s important for you to understand three things about self care:
1) The type of self-care is right for you
2) How to say “No” to draining opportunities that don’t fit into the big picture of your life so you can experience self care and refuel for the things that are important, including your marriage.
3) When to practice self-care
