2 Year Checkup

I know, I am a month behind on updating my blog...oh well.
Just thought I would share these cute pictures and the numbers from Eva's two year checkup at the doctor.
She weighed 28 pounds.
She was 35 inches tall. Pretty sure she'll be taller than her mommy some day!!
Eva did really good at the doctor. She had to get one shot in each leg and didn't even flinch! She is a tough girl. Image Eva is a very energetic two year old. We have lots of fun with her. She loves to dance around in the kitchen with the radio on. She is a pretty smart girl and keeps us on our toes. We love her so much!! Image
Eva will be lots of fun Christmas morning opening presents. She likes to look at the ornaments on the Christmas tree. We have been teaching her the story of the Nativity and she loves Baby Jesus. ImageGetting Eva's pictures done was quite the ordeal! Luckily, they turned out good. I redid her hair three times after we got there! At one point, we went into the bathroom to get some water on her hair and she ended up with water all over her shirt--the one for the pictures. Thank goodness they had the blow dryer hand dryers in that bathroom. I had to take her shirt off and hold it under the dryer so she could still wear it for the pictures!

Eva's 2nd Birthday

Can't believe it, but she turned 2 last month!!ImageWe had a party on Eva's birthday. We had lots of family and friends come over to help celebrate. Eva got spoiled with lots of great presents. Brian barbecued elk burgers. Later we went to a football game at ISU - Eva loves football!!
ImageAunt McKenzie made this awesome cake!! She did such a good job. Thanks McKenzie!!ImageAunt Marcy made ice cream haystacks to go along with the barn and animals. Thanks Marcy!

And thank you to everyone for coming to wish Eva a happy birthday!

Thanksgiving

We went to my sister Marcy's house in Logan for Thanksgiving this year. My parents, my brother Josh and his family, and my Aunt Debbie & Uncle Mike and cousin Staci came, too. We had turkey dinner with some of Marcy's friends, so it was a big party!
Of course, before our feast, we had to run our 5K. It was great...and cold. I ran it in about 34 minutes. Here is a picture of everyone who ran and biked in our race.ImageEva had lots of fun with her cousins. They are all really going to miss Aunt Marcy for the next year and a half. She just got her mission call to Birmingham, Alabama!! We are so excited for her! Image

We went to California to visit the Buntings!!

Eva and I got to go on a road trip over the Labor Day holiday weekend. We had tons of fun!! It was a long drive and Eva got a little sick of her car seat, but we made it. We went with my parents and two of my sisters. We went to visit my other sister and her family in California for my new nephew's blessing. We also went to Uncle Gary and Aunt Diane's house for one night. They have a pool and Eva jumped off the diving board! She is so brave!!Image We went to Disneyland because my sister Becky ran in a 5k there and Eva was in a 100 Yard Dash. She was a little overwhelmed with all the people crammed together, so I ran with her. We got to run down Main St in Disneyland. Eva was excited to get her medal at the end!
Image Grandpa and Eva made some cookies at Aunt Becky's house.
Image Eva's first trip to the ocean!! She loved it! She had fun playing in the water and picking up the sand.
Image John and Becky only live about 2 miles from a great beach. We are definitely going back for another visit!!
Image Baby Kevin was blessed on Sunday. He looked so cute in his little white shirt onesie and tie!!
Image Eva loves her cousin Kevin so much!! He already has almost as much hair as she does!!
Image We went to the LA Zoo on Monday. They have lots of cool animals there. I think Eva liked the hippo the best. She kept asking to look at it again and again.
Image Me, Eva, Kevin, and Becky hiding out in an air conditioned room at the LA Zoo!!
Image We went to the LA Science Center. That place is really neat. Me and all of my sisters took a turn riding the bicycle on the high wire. It was a long way down!!
Image Then we went to a 3D IMAX movie that was about the ocean. Eva kept moving her glasses up and down to see the difference with them on and off.
Image Eva and McKenzie wanted to ride the Hot Dog bus home!
We had so much fun on our trip. While we were gone Brian went bow hunting for an elk. He got one the very first morning he went out!! Unfortunately I don't have a picture. He got a 5x5 bull with his bow, so we should have plenty of meat for the winter.

The Rush Triathlon and Lindsay's New Car

I am so proud of Brian!! On Saturday he did his first triathlon!! Brian and my sister Marcy both did the Rush Triathlon in Rexburg. They both did awesome!! Brian worked really hard over the last few weeks to get ready for the triathlon. It included a 1/2 mile swim, a 14.2 mile bike ride, and a 3.1 mile run.
It was great fun...and thanks Jeff and Megan for letting us come stay at your new house!! ImageBrian and I right before he had to get in the water at Rainbow Lake. The water was warmer than the air that morning! ImageWe were so glad Aunt Mel and Uncle Josh could come cheer Brian on, and help with Eva.
ImageThis is us right after the race. Just two hours and two minutes from the start!!
ImageWay to go Marcy and Brian!! Marcy cut off almost 30 minutes from her last triathlon!
I guess I need to practice my swimming and bicycling so I can do this next year!!
Image Here is my new car I picked up yesterday...a 2009 Kia Spectra. Okay, so really it is just a rental, but I can pretend it is mine for a week or so I guess because my car is not driveable!!
Image So, Saturday night, at about 11:30, Brian and I were awakened by a very large crash outside our window. We looked out and saw that my car had moved about six feet forward from where we had left it. My car had been parked on the side of the road in front of our house.
Long story short, a driver (who we are pretty sure was drunk) hit my car. The car they were driving ended up in the middle of the road two houses down from us. The airbags were deployed and that car was not going anywhere, but the driver and passenger were. They jumped in their friend's truck that was following behind them. Yeah, they left the car right in the middle of the road. The driver then called their significant other (whose car they were driving) and told them to call the cops and report their car stolen because they had just wrecked. The owner of the car was smart enough to not do that. The night next the police finally found the driver of the vehicle and they were cited for Driving without Privileges and Leaving the Scene of an Accident.
Image
This is the suspect car that was left in the middle of the road. Both cars had to be towed away. Lucky for us, the owner has full coverage.

The Challenger

They were giving free train rides today on old Union Pacific Railroad passenger cars. We got to ride on the Challenger. Apparently it was a pretty popular train in the 40s and went from Chicago to LA. It was a great ride!!ImageWaiting at the depot.

All I did was sign up and fill out a short application online(along with more than 2,000 other people) and they chose me as one of the party hosts. They sent me a Domino's pizza box with coupons, a Domino's pen and pad of paper, a fun card game, and a $75 gift card for whatever I wanted at Domino's!!! Go check it out!
