The band took root when Vansire frontman Josh Augustin and guitarist Nathan Slone dreamed up a 70s-inspired project back when they attended Oberlin. Cutting instrumental beds in their Brooklyn studio, everything snapped into place when Augustin met Taylor Olin on a Malibu video shoot.
