For those of you who are visiting for the first time, WELCOME. For returning friends, WELCOME BACK.
My name is Megan. I'm a 20 years young Canadian University Student. I'm a confident individual who couldn't be happier with who I am, who I want to be, and where I'm planning on taking my life.
I'm a fairly short person (I stand at 5' even), but that doesn't stop me from thinking bib. I have medium length brown hair with gold highlights, hazel eyes and very stright teeth.
I'm casual in terms of style. You will rarely find me without jeans on, and I can't ask for anything better than a comfy t-shirt. However, on odd days (like today), you'll find me in a preppy mood, or even a Euro-trash mood, with blouses, page-boy hats and trousers. I have an unhealthy obsession with scarves.
I'm currently living in a small chunk of rural England, about 2 hours south of London. My home is Herstmonceux Castle, East Sussex, where I attend school at Queen's International Study Centre with 160 other students. I'll be here for the year, then I will return to my home country to continue my arts degree in Geography (if I don't switch my major to English).
While I am living in the beautiful nation of Britain, my home is Trenton Ontario, Canada, with my family. My mother Judy, my father Tom and my siblings Hannah (17) and Joey (14) live in a medium sized home, with our 3 cats Calvin, Hobbes and Kitty. I have a happy relationship with them, and I am missing them horribly as I make my first steps into adulthood. I also have a horse back home; Beau is my baby and I hope he remember me while I'm away.
I have many people in my life that I love. I left a close-knit group of friends back home, and I'm looking forward to visiting them when I go home for Christmas. I have a best friend in Dani, who is at College in Toronto. Me and her were very close througout High School, and she changed my life. I've never had a closer friend than her.
I've met so many amazing people here at University. These are friends that I will have the rest of my life. FAB FOUR FOREVER. :D
I have a boyfriend named Tom. I've had a crush on him since October, but just recently our close friendship has turned into something just a little bit more. I'm incredibly happy being with him.
As I said, I'm in University studying Art History, Geography, History, English and Astronomy. Because I am in England, my studies tend to focus more on the 'European' side of things. I am loving my English Lit course like nobody's business. Because my school is so tiny, we also have the unique opportunity to visit places that relate to our courses. This week I go to the Tate Modern Museum and see all the Surrealist paintings I've been learning about in class.
I don't know what I want to do for a living, but right now I keep saying that I would love to work as a photo-journalist for National Geographic.
While I don't know what I want to do with my life in terms of a job, I do know that no matter how I make my money, I know where I want to spend it: More than anything, I want to travel. I want to see the world in its entirety, and for a 19 year old, I'm off to a pretty good start.
I have been all over Canada, and have seen Rome, Florence, Venice, Munich, Barcelona, Heidelburg, Verona, Innsbruk, London, Edinburgh, Liverpool, Paris, Brussels, Wales, Cambridge, Bath, Portsmouth, and New York City to name a few. I have had some amazing experiences that have shaped who I am as a person, and will continue to change me. I'm hoping my next big trip will be Napal.
I'm a literature buff. I love to read. Some of my favourite books include, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Pride and Prejudice, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Clan of the Cave Bear and Hamlet.
I'm also obsessed with movies. My current favourites are Lord of the Rings (trilogy), Moulin Rouge, Fight Club and Pride and Prejudice (make no mistake, when movies doube books, I read the book first, bitches). My favourite actors include Billy Boyd, Ewan McGregor, Edward Norton, and Matt LeBlanc.
If you wish to know more, read the journal.
On LJ I currently am the moderater of three communities. tblf is for Baz Lurhmann fans. debate_potter is for serious Harry Potter discussions. the_hallway is a private community for my Real-Life friends.
Feel free to join the first two. :D
I also have a writing journal that will one day have more writing in it. ascribo.
