i am guy who needs a definite answer all the time so much and seeks it out constantly and so....having conducted so many deepdives on this exact topic....here is my summary of evidences:

> SUBTLE THINGS:

b) jimin specifically said he does not cook. and in that one thing where they were writing the profile for another member of the group, jin was writing for jimin right. and he had to write what each member was to jimin. and for jungkook, jin wrote "jungkook is my chef"

c) jimin brought up that jungkook's morning alarm is an autotuned baby's cry

d) jimin also described how jungkook snores, in detail

e) and that one time they had that question that was like "what do u like to do in the morning" and jimin was like "i like to see jungkook's face"

f) i don't know this myself because i don't rly watch current bangtan content but i hear they're "filming content in the dorm now" aka the dorm exists as a concept and not as an actual living space (i don't know if they're still filming 'dorm content' anymore but at one point they were)

i think you might've gathered from even just this much that a) the members do not live together anymore, and b) jikook seem to be living together. there is a lot more evidence but these are the most directly correlated to them living together. they keep referring to things that u could only know if u lived with someone or saw them around nighttime. and it seems like they were/are the only two that live together, because none of the other members have volunteered information at this level of intimacy about literally any of the other members, much less abt jm or jk.

i really wonder if its like a think they agreed with bighit to pretend abt or if its contractual....like did bighit say u better pretend ur a boyband to the extent we want or were they like fine we will pretend for a few more years. i have no answers for this i just think about it a lot

> APARTMENTS:

bts have bought like apartments in really expensive places like trimage, hannam hill, etc. it was hobi first in 2016, then the others followed over the years. jungkook was notably second: in 2016, he bought an apartment in trimage, which i heard was for his parents. then in 2018, he bought another apartment at trimage, presumably for himself. NOTABLY, jimin had not bought an apartment up until this point, but by 2019 every other member had.

~according to my sources~, jungkook then sold his trimage apartment in july 2020 (sale registered october 2020). and in december 2020, he bought a house in itaewon. combining a couple sources, though, it seems that this house was being rented out to "the representation of an international holding" from 2019 and will be rented out to them until september 2021. so he is not living there, and he sold his trimage apartment. furthermore, to register the itaewon house he bought, jungkook listed a nine one hannam address, and he also used that nine one hannam address to vote that year. and EVEN FURTHERMORE, in august when jungkook had already sold trimage and had not even purchased the itaewon house yet, he had someone come into his apartment twice to install a soundproof booth (and gave him an autograph for his sister). so we have to wonder....is his studio at nine one hannam? at a place he didn't even purchase? (note: jimin has still not bought a place of his own.)

in may 2021, namjoon officially became the owner of an apartment at nine one hannam, and one day after that jimin also became an owner of his own apartment at nine one hannam. (namjoon's was more expensive, because it has a terrace.) there was that one repairman that saw jimin at nine one hannam, but apparently he was told there were 3 members living in nine one hannam.

if we look at this apartment history, we can see that the times that jungkook and jimin owned and lived in their own purchased apartments have not coincided even once. furthermore, we can be fairly confident that jimin and namjoon are in nine one hannam, and most likely the third member at nine one hannam is jungkook. jungkook could either be staying at an apartment of his own there and simply not purchased it under his own name (which i believe he was doing in 2020 when he no longer owned trimage and was renting out his itaewon house), or -- and i find this is more likely to be true in 2021, considering all the other factors listed above in SUBTLE THINGS -- he is living with jimin at nine one hannam.

i would even go a step further and say that perhaps jimin bought the apartment jungkook was staying in, and that both of them are now living in that apartment with the soundproof booth jungkook got installed in 2020. because when i think of that -- it solves all the remaining questions. like why is jungkook staying at nine one hannam and getting a soundproof booth installed there instead of his itaewon house? and why would jungkook get a soundproof booth installed in an apartment he hasn't already bought and isn't buying? both questions are resolved if we consider the possibility that jimin bought that apartment under his name, and they're both living there together.

it is true that jm and jk were always close, and tae and jk were close at one point too. i remember that a lot of the bangtan members used to call tae "immature" in yearly profiles (back in his 4d days), and in recent years they began to say he has matured. uh, i hate to bring this up bc it feels intrusive but it's true i think that losing his grandmother in late 2016 changed smth about him. he became very serious from that moment on; something about him sobered up, in a sense. then his close friend passed away in late 2017. and even though i don't think him and jonghyun were close friends, that passing impacted all of kpop and i'm sure it affected him too. his grandfather passed mid-2018 as well. it's possible that this created a disconnect between him and the rest of maknaeline, because even though everyone experienced the effects of jonghyun's passing, no one in bts has experienced as much loss as taehyung. he lost someone close to him every year from 2016 to 2018.

like u r saying, jungkook said in soop that tae becoming reserved made it hard for them to connect the way they used to, because they were playful back then. but notably taehyung says none of those things. he only says that they were "partners in crime" back then, but he doesn't mention a disconnect in personality the way jungkook does. (i just rewatched it: https://youtu.be/Bsyg2puVOGw) we can see that jimin and taehyung actually seem much more amiable and playful, at the beginning of this clip. we also know that taekook is the pair that had become significantly distanced, and vmin were not distanced to that extent. it's only jungkook and taehyung that have this particular type of tension. then -- icb i didn't notice or didn't see this before -- taehyung openly admits that he feels like he isn't loved, that he goes on weverse to feel like he is receiving love, and at night in bed that feeling evaporates....and not being able to see the love from fans with his own eyes has exacerbated that. he literally tells us this.

this is a bit subjective, but the way he says "we were partners in crime" suggests to me that he missed it. it's a source of nostalgia for him. the way he says that, i don't think he thinks he's too mature for them. it's not that jimin and jungkook haven't matured too. i think he wants to be close with them. but his life experiences took a trajectory that changed the way he is drastically, and while he may have wanted to remain close with jimin and jungkook, jungkook found it difficult to connect with this new kimtae -- and while jimin wanted to hang out with taehyung as usual and doesn't seem to feel a disconnect w kimtae's changed personality, jungkook began to dominate his time. and kimtae, who was losing loved ones one by one, and was now losing his connections with his closest links in bangtan -- no wonder he felt like he wasn't loved, ykwim? his life turned upside-down. he got closer to his actor friends, because what else was he supposed to do? jm and jk were (are) closer than ever, and more often than not it was (and still is) just the two of them. he reached out to people (his actor friends) who would reciprocate his affection, make him feel less alone. (T_T i know most people don't want to believe bangtan have insecurities like the rest of us but they are human too....)

but ofc distancing from a difficult connection and choosing to strengthen other ones doesn't magically heal existing rifts. the clip didn't show it, and unfortunately i forgot who initiated the soop convo in the first place, but lovely leaf reminded me that kimtae got jimin to help him have that serious talk with jungkook, which means kimtae did in fact want to fix things. he didn't think he was too mature for them; he wanted to be close again. and he finally took the initiative in soop.

and then we can see the results of how trying to heal those rifts has made him happier in butter era. butter era vlives....the smile on his face....it was like his younger self. it was like he felt loved again. i think if we look closely, we can find quite a few idols going thru dpression eras and coming out of them like they were reborn, like they're reinvigorated, like they are their old selves again. it's a noticeable pattern, imo (see, for example, najaem and lele). and kimtae's arc fits right into it.

so overall/tldr; i don't think kimtae felt too mature for jm and jk necessarily, because he eventually took initiative in soop to have a serious talk with jungkook and reconnect. he himself catalyzed the mending of their relationship.

this was one of the early indicators of ~jk special treatment of jm~ that i think people only really began to pick up later. it cracks me up that jk could not defend himself, like this man really just went and did it no thoughts head empty other than his MASSIVE burgeoning crush on jimin compelling him to buy a bday gift despite never having done that before for any member of the group, EVER. consistently since then he's very clearly treated jimin differently from the rest of bangtan. it's almost like how haechan treated renj like the girl on the team when they played foot volleyball in 7llin -- jimin's not really a renjun, but there's a softness to how jungkook treats him compared to the others. it's just so CRYSTAL CLEAR to me in those moments, that's why i love witnessing them.

close observer perspective of kookmin's relationship. kookmin themselves tell us they're similar and "click," but namseok give us another dimension to their rs.

i can't explain it but the look on jungkook's face as he said, "he takes care of me well," was the most innuendo-filled look he's ever given. this was also a massively revolutionary moment in kookmin canon within the context of that year, like arguably the turning point in that they began acting shamelessly obvious about their relationship. and as we know, mma 2018 happened later that year.

i can't say i know taegi super well at all, but as far as what you're saying this all sounds true!! i think a lot of idol groups have that situation, where there are some really good relationships and then there are some where it's like, if we weren't in a group together we would never interact (for example nahyuck ajsdlkfjsd)

i think taekook vs taegi is sort of where the age hierarchy dynamics come in, but also that taekook's personalities were more compatible in the past than taegi's ever was....but in the present where taekook's personalities are /drastically/ different to about the same level of taegi's, them seeming closer than taegi seems to be partially that shared past compatibility combined with age hierarchy automatically placing them closer to each other. i think that jungkook and jin aren't actually THAT close, like they are playful but i don't get the impression that they talk seriously about things, if that makes sense. whereas i think jin helped jimin a lot in the past and was a source of comfort for him, and though they may not be like that now they still have that past of relying on each other. i haven't seen much of taejoon lately so i can't say i know what trajectory they're taking right now....and yeah i think taehyung's new outlook on life is very aligned or compatible with personalities that....are not present in bangtan sdkjfsdsld except for maybe jimin. scream u saying tae thinks jk is immature....i mean maybe!! i recall that time jk was very rude to him in that one vlive....that was very uh. immature of jk imo. and im sure the rest of bangtan thought so too bc like....the mood got real awkward after....so i can see that!!

uh, i don't think vmin is fake!! but in a sense that a) yes i do think they've gotten distant, but b) i do not think they like each other less, just that circumstances (namely jk coming between them) have distanced them in this way. i think tae rly means what he says. i don't think he'd work on entire songs about jimin if he didn't actually care about him that way. he even wanted to sing that christmas song with jimin and was stopped by bighit....(and FUCK bighit) sigh. anyway. so i don't think it's a facade but they also are probably reluctant to reveal that they aren't as close as they used to be -- but i think they still love each other very much. bts is very free in this respect, that they don't really have to push fanservice anymore!! they're rich as shit now, they don't gotta do that, whatever they do will sell. the only time i've seen them do fanservice in recent years is taekook for their japanese fanbase (or so it was speculated by km oomfs so take that with a grain of salt i guess). so i don't think there is any real need for vmin to be pushed -- the bangtan-are-besties agenda works well enough and survives in the eyes of the fandom even when bangtan themselves are distancing, so really hybe/bangtan don't have to do anything at all....the fandom will do it for them.

SCREAM are you armyzen too....what a surprise reading ur dreamies paragraphs. this is true!! they're very transparent, very professional, and fairly comfortable excepting a couple dynamics. i want to note that they're still young, though! if u look at bangtan at that age, they were also all fairly close to each other. we really don't know what's going to happen with dreamies as they age, especially bc we can see their dynamics actively shifting ALREADY right now. certain dynamics are already getting distant and strained. it is true that they are gen z and bangtan are millenials, and i think that's where dreamies take enjoyment out of engaging in fanservice and making it a joke amongst themselves (i'm aware that sm also trains them to not show if they hate it, but we've seen them engage in it when they don't even need to so they really seem to have owned it and made it their own), whereas bangtan clearly hated doing fanservice and didn't hide that. i've kinda noticed that with 4th gen? they embrace fanservice/skinship/being close much more, and it might just be their natural inclination or that they're not as bothered by it, or that mindsets have changed over time, i dunno, lots of factors that i haven't fully rotated in my head....

you're right that they met at a younger age than bangtan did, i really agree with that!! if u grow up with each other at that age, you kinda get through ur worst eras together, and coming out of that u have this bond that is difficult to shake. i think bangtan were brought together by other reasons (small company, broke, already aware they were in the lineup, living together predebut), but what you're saying about that adolescent/middle school age being intensely formative is extremelyyyy true i think u made a fantastic point there. all in all though. i do think there are still some distinctions in age/gen that should be made between dreamies and bangtan before any comparisons are made. i kinda want to explore this further now!! hahahaha....thank u for these really good thoughts nonnie <3
