Couldn’t sleep last night so I worked on a model that has been sitting around for several years and asking me for a paint job…so I finally gave Gamling his long overdue coat of paint.

Boba Fett (Prototype Armor)

Well, I finally finished my Boba Fett in his white prototype armor. I nearly decided to strip the model of the paint and go back to his original colors, but plodded on through and went with a monochromatic paint scheme throughout the whole piece using only blacks, whites and shades of grey…even on the base; I also added a bit of snow on that back side of the base for a bit more detail.

Haldir

This Haldir was created by using one of the Elven Captains, Haldir’s head and the sword arm of Celeborn from the Haldir & Celeborn blister pack. I originally completed this model a while back, but was never happy with the paint job I put on him (original was silver and black). Now he is more like the film, but still a little unique by having a light grey cloak giving him a mixture of the Lothlórien greys with the armored 3rd age elven armor.

R3-M3 (aka R3-O1) Death Star Astromech Droid

This model began life as a R7 Astromech Droid and repainted him to create R3-M3. I considered making a mould and getting some clear resin to make this droid’s clear dome…but after weighing my options and the cost I decided to make the dome cloudy like Hasbro did for their toy. The rest of the paint job was given a dirty look.

It has been a long time coming and I have finally finished my Necromancer model. I had a hell of a time getting the helmet insert to fit properly into the hood, so I’d work on it, then back to the shelf he went. Back and forth for what seemed like forever, but now he is completed and painted. I originally intended to have his armor glowing a ghostly blue, but have opted to go with just a simple metallic looking armor and a black cloak. I decided to go with this look as initially the White Council believed the Necromancer to be a Nazgûl, and a black robed figure seemed the best fit for that description.

Decided not to get gory with him and just add a simple partial skeleton to the base leaving it to the imagination to whomever is looking at it what or whom the corpse may have been.

Painted the lighter highlights onto the wings, touched up the dark grey skin and cleaned up a few more messed up parts here and there. Next is to add the snow to the base and then start adding final highlights.
