this is one of the filmiest films i’ve ever seen. it was beautiful on the most scary and beautiful way.

this was so fucking intense i hated it at moments but also really funny. this was my first paul thomas anderson film and it was great.

the last act was inCREDIBLE like the car chases, all the hilly roads. THAT ONE SHOT WHERE THE CAR DOOR SLAMMED WAS BEAUTIFULLL.

words cannot describe how i feel right now. 

this film is miserable, depressing, disturbing and you are forced to see it all. every shot is 5-10 mins long and the camera is always being handheld, following the characters from behind, isolating them on screen with its depth of field, you are there with them. you enter their dark and awful world. 

some would say the film drags, i say this film grabs your hair and pulls your across the ground…
