No, I don't have insurance. I'm currently on assistance. Also please note that the fire didn't affect just me - there are about 10 people affected. If you want to donate to the others, just let me know. AND, anything I can't use I will definitely pass on.

RIGHT NOW:

1. Crash space - Ok for now
2. Immediate needs:
   
   1. A change of clothing: Jeans, Tshirt, bra
   2. Towel - Did laundry in Megan's building, a woman named Julie gave me a bag with a towel, a pair of jeans, three shirts, shampoo, and nail polish remover. Awwww!
   3. Leggings and sleepshirt
   4. Toiletries
   5. Backpack or rolly pack - (will probably pick this up later today)
3. Flute to borrow for the weekend - (Long and McQuade)
4. A PLACE
   
   1. Still haven't heard from the housing worker so don't know if I can get into another subsidized place, whether room or apartment
   2. Rent budget is max $350 including utilities
   3. Must be no smoking, no cats, not a basement (allergies)
   4. Furnished would be great

Next week:

1. Crash space
2. STORAGE for smoky belongings as of later next week so I can go through them slowly in a cleaner environment
3. COMPRESSED AIR as of next week to try to salvage equipment enough to get data

Later next week I will be able to assess the damage and know what needs replacing.

It's going to be an interesting journey over the next few years, because the USA is in a pretty damned big hole. But I'm so thankful that the PEOPLE have spoken out in favour of change. I just hope that this can be turned into real action. I'm scared that as soon as Obama acts to actually change something that's drastically needed, there will be a huge backlash.

There are still some people who think that a woman has no right in making choices for her own body, that gay people who love each other somehow have a love that's inferior to the love between a man and a woman even if the hetero couple is infertile.

We all still have a long way to go.
