Break to Make is the first of its kind at USC: a 48-hour hardware make-a-thon specifically designed for women and nonbinary makers. For students, diving into hardware can be daunting: the tools are expensive, the learning curve steep. Our ethos is that anyone has the ability to make anything, given the proper resources and support. In past years, our event has welcomed over 100+ makers, many of whom have launched careers in tech because of this experience. Break to Make is designed to be accessible to all, which is why we provide the experience at no cost.
