That Vast Hunger

Adult Witch Romantasy

He stole her heart. She stole his memories.

Wanted for murder, Secora Reed serves a vampiric clan in exchange for their protection. As their resident witch, she heals curse-inflicted vampires and does her best to forget her bloodied past. But when the only man she’s ever loved crashes back into her life, her fragile stability is threatened.

Elliot Lyrie barely remembers his former classmate, Secora Reed. He knows she was a Dark One. An orphan. An outcast. And, most markedly, his best friend’s sadistic killer. But when he’s attacked by a mob of vampires, Secora is inexplicably the one to save him. Beyond his shock, Elliot is overcome with the unshakable feeling he should know Secora.

When he discovers she stole his memories, Elliot makes Secora an offer she can’t refuse. He will help heal her cursed vampires, and in exchange, she will return his memories. Though she accepts, Secora has no intention of honoring the bargain.

After all, she knows better than anyone: the past holds power and Elliot’s might just destroy her hard-won future.

THAT VAST HUNGER is a witch romantasy and is part of an interconnected series of standalones. Featuring second-chance romance, amnesia (with a twist!), and open-door spice, it is told in dual, first person POV.

The Echo Realm books can all be read as standalone romantasies; however, if you plan to read multiple, I recommend reading in the following order:

1. This Violent Light

2. That Vast Hunger

Romance & Romantasy Author

Bree Wilde

I wrote my first novel at 16, but I fell in love with stories long before that. At 17, I published a contemporary YA novel on Wattpad and gained a large following (about 120,000!). After that, I spent years learning everything I could about traditional publishing. But after several “so-close” moments, I reached a point where I knew I was strong enough to publish by myself.

If you’ve found this page, I hope you love my characters as much as I do. I have been amazed at the outpouring of support I’ve gotten from readers, so thank you for giving this little author a chance to yap about her stories.

This Violent Light

Jul 18, 2025

He’s her worst nightmare. She’s his last chance.

When vampire king Sebastian Vulce betrays a witch coven, he unwittingly brings a deadly curse over his people, condemning them to burn in the sun. The only way to break it is with a witch from a vanished bloodline.

Everything changes when Grace Renolds accidently exposes her existence to the vampiric world. Bubbly and kind, Grace has no idea she’s half-witch…or that she’s the only one capable of freeing the vampires.

When Sebastian traps her in his manor, Grace immediately plans her escape. She knows Sebastian will kill her if she fails to break the curse—and Grace only ever fails.

But violent and cruel as Sebastian may be, he doesn’t see Grace like she sees herself. To him, she’s not vapid or pathetic. She’s strong, irreplaceable, unstoppable.

Grace knows she should run…because the only thing worse than helping a vampire king is falling in love with him.

Between Smoke & Shadow

 Jan 24, 2025

With treacherous weather and inhospitable soil, the Savoan kingdom is a brutal place to survive—especially if you don’t possess magic.

As an indentured servant, working to buy back her freedom, Rune Ealde knows this all too well. Terrified her debt will never be paid, Rune joins a growing rebellion to steal the power that’s always just beyond reach. The rebels plan to overthrow the kingdom’s founder, the Architect, to find freedom and to build a better world. But if they fail, Rune will face the same fate as her criminal father: an excruciating death, delivered by the Architect himself.

Prince Harrick Ademas has always been in power, but he still feels weak in his father’s presence. No more than a pawn in the Architect’s elaborate scheme, Harrick has learned to obey commands or face the deadly consequences. He once dreamt of freeing Savoa, but challenging the Architect now is too dangerous to imagine, the downfall too dire to risk.

When a chance encounter brings Rune and Harrick together, their friendship blossoms into unexpected hope. Soon, lingering touches turn to whispered promises, and their forbidden love becomes their purest form of magic. But as they’re imagining a future together, one with peace between their people, the Architect is growing restless. He’s ready for change, and if he succeeds, there might not be a kingdom left to save.
