my boy on his day...

today started off great... and only got better...

thanks to pinterest brent and i got to wake jones up with some fun surprises...

balloons on the ceiling and a zig-zag crate paper door-way...

then jones was on the phone all morning... the real phone...

and fake phone too... having fun conversations...

it was so fun to see ellis experience touching a real flower for the first time...

these flowers were so bright... hot pink and fuchsia... they were beautiful and she loved to see them... loved touching them... and unfortunately tasting them...  i was so happy to capture the moment...  she just kept touching the petals over and over...

a wagon ride and an imagination walk...

i LOVE this kid!

a couple days ago i asked him if he wanted to go on a walk and ride in the wagon... he responded with,  "can i take my binoculars?"

i told him, "of course"

and then after he found them and was ready to go he replied with, "im ready for our imagination walk"

i took a couple pictures because i couldnt resist... but he was mostly in control of the camera... this is what he found on his "imagination walk"...

wagon rides...

one day while we were out back working in the yard i was trying to figure out how to make ellis happy for just a few more moments so that we could finish up a few things... she would not be able to sit up in the wagon very well yet... so i got the empty box of wipes and put her in that on top of the wagon... turns out it was the best idea ever!  jones loves to pull her and she loves to be pulled...

we now go on a lot of wagon rides!

its pretty funny to see peoples reactions as we walk around the neighborhood...

the best was when this guy couldnt stop laughing and then finally said, "its like a huggies commercial... and her head... just popping out of the top of the box like that... so cute" he could hardly get his words out... 

on another occasion spiderman decided to come along...

this was a day when he asked me to take his picture... cheeseball...

[january 28th & february 12th 2012]

ps...

i dont have any pictures of it... but wanted to remember how fun it was... this year i found a little red mailbox from targets dollar spot that jones would get "mail" or a valentine in every morning... kind of like a valentines day countdown... so starting february 1st and up until valentines day he would run and see what was in his mailbox... 


some mornings when he wasnt quite awake, i would have to remind him... but by the end of it he knew what to do and loved seeing what was inside...


most mornings i had to put a valentine with a clue on it telling him where to look because the prize was too big to fit... the mailbox was small


he got things like a book, red bubbles, of course some valentine candy, a microscope, a new notebook [he LOVES notebooks!] and a few other random things that we thought would be fun for him to find...


the last day, february 14th, he had to go from one valentine clue to the next to find his real valentine day surprise...


cant wait for next valentines day!

yay...

i love valentines day... not necesarrily for me... but just to celebrate a day of love with these lovelies...

we had a fun afternoon at the botanical gardens... i really will have a boat race stream in my future dream backyard... someday...

then... what could make a better night than a heart shaped pizza... a lovely boquet of tulips from my lover...  and french berry lemonade we won at the valentine white elephant party

again... happy valentines day...

uss midway...

this month is museum month... that means discounts on museums...

[big smile... we love museums... jones randomly will ask me to go to them]...

jones was just a little excited!

this is the tom cat from top gun... brent and i still need to see that movie... i know crazy... how can you not have seen that movie... i have no idea... but still have not...

jones kept telling us he had to go "drive the ship"... because we were on a ship [aircraft carrier]... but he was on an airplane... hes funny...
