New Years Eve 2016

A perfect way to ring in the new year. The park was packed, it was rainy, but we had a great time. Sydney got a pickle which Ty thought was the slinkiest.  Aunt Rachael had sent them gift cards for Christmas, so the got to look for the perfect souvenir. Sydney got a light-up bubble blower and Ty a Star Wars character and Star Wars handcuffs. At 7:30 the kids decided we should use the last Fast Pass and head home to watch the final Hunger Games movie. We had watched the last 3 Hunger Games in the days before and they wanted conclusion...but on New Years Eve? We left the park at 8:30, saw the fireworks from the parking lot and they both fell asleep driving to Grandma and Grandpa's house in San Diego. We watched Hunger Games the following day.  

AZ State Fair - 10-8-16

We went to the State Fair with my long time friend Sara and her husband and son. We were having a great time watching the Monster Truck Show, eating funnel cake, touring the displays and enjoying the rides. Sydney started feeling weak, dizzy and began to black out. I sat on the black top with her while Sara bought her a drink. After she gained strength I took her to the first aid booth, which terrified her, but they gave her an ice pack and a plush donut. I don't think she will willingly return to the fair after that scary experience.

A Fall Favorite - 10-7-16

This has been a tradition for Sydney and I to make each fall. This year Kaitley was able to join us. Yum!

Cruise - 5-2016

My mom joined the kids and I on a cruise. It was fantastic! Everything about it. The kids had the run of the ship. They loved the kids club and the many activities. We loved the game shows. I even got called in stage for one of them. My mom and I would tuck the kids in, or send them to the kids evening event and hit a comedy show. We had a blast in the casino as well. We knew we were one pull away from hitting it big. Unfortunately we ran out of cash before the big cash-out. The food was great and Sydney enjoyed ice cream for breakfast, lunch and dinner. One morning she told me she was going to get fruit and came back with an ice cream cone...that girl.

The stops were Catalina Island and Mexico. It was nice to get out and walk around. The kids were shocked and saddened by the poverty of Mexico. They did each buy a watch, but were anxious to get back aboard the ship. Hope we get to do another cruise one day. It was a great relaxing and bonding experience.

Leaving BUHSD

I will forever miss this crew. I was named Employee of the Year. I felt so valued and knowledgeable in my payroll and Human Resources position. Unfortunately the divorce meant I needed more money, so I had to say goodbye. I'm grateful for the strength, knowledge, support and love this group provided. Lots of tears were shed in those offices through my last year or two there. The friendships that grew from those tough times will be cherished forever in my heart.
