The SponGES project (Deep-sea sponge grounds ecosystems of the North Atlantic: an integrated approach towards their preservation and sustainable exploitation) is an international collaboration which aims to protect the deep-sea sponge ecosystems of the North Atlantic by studying their distributions and habitats, predicting future change and exploring their potential for sustainable biotechnology.
