Mommy Wow, I'm a Big Kid Now!

The other day Luke came into our bedroom early in the morning saying that he had a wiggly tooth.  My heart sank!  I have gotten used to the babies passing milestone after milestone, but Luke has kind of gotten in a groove, so all of the sudden it hit me, he is growing up.  He is literally starting to leave his childhood behind.  How did this happen?  He has gotten lots of extra hugs this week and after he promised he would still be a sweet little guy his tiny tooth fell out.  And life has somehow gone one.

Abby & Ben turn 2!

Image
So we just got home from our trip and the next day the babies turned two.  I will probably have to stop calling them babies at some point, but today is not that day!  We had a super low key day since they have now idea what is going on.  Luckily Luke reminded me of our tradition to decorate rooms for birthdays so we bought some balloons before we went to visit my parents.  We filled their bedroom floor with them, they didn't even notice (perhaps its time to de-clutter)  I wanted to have their favorite food for dinner, but I felt like the rest of us would feel kind of strange eating just cheese for dinner, so we compromised with their second favorite pizza.   Had some cake and called it a night.  It has been a crazy, wonderful two years!

This is the babies hugging.  When you ask them to hug, they knock heads :)

A little of this and a little of that

Just a few fun Luke things.

Luke came into my bedroom one morning, I told him that I was feeling sick and was going to lay down for a minute.  He ran right out of the room.  I was sad to have my snuggle buggler gone.  But he he ran right back in and brought me a cough drop sure it would solve all of my sicknesses....so sweet.

Bryan and I have struggled with naming the babies.  But Luke has solved all of our problems, the girl will be Peaches and the boy Boondock.  :)

Luke has really started to love music.  He has been dancing for quite a while now.  He has quite a few cool moves, my favorite is what I can only describe as a reverent booty shake.  Bryan made him his own CD and Luke picked the songs, plenty of Disney, some of Bryan's spanish Ska music, but number one was Single Ladies.  He has some ecclectic tastes to say the least.

Now he has developed a love for singing, his personal favorite Hakuna Matata:

'Tis the season

We had such a fun Christmas this year. We spent the night at my parents after all the Christmas Eve festivities and where able to have our little Christmas morning downstairs while they were away at prison church where they serve(not time...as clergy). Anyway, now every time we go down there Luke wants to know if Santa is coming again. Luke loved opening presents, which is pretty impressive considering some of the things I wrapped up for him...socks, old books the library didn't were quite dated. But it didn't dampen his excitement. He seemed equally excited about those as he did about his train. But truth be told the thing he liked most was the candy canes in his stocking. He told everyone about them :)

We tried to teach him a bit the joy of giving gifts and wanted him to pick out the gifts he gave to Bryan and I. So off to the dollar store we went. First we all shopped for Murphy's gift together. Next Bryan took him to look for my gift while I perused the toy section for stocking stuffers.   Then Bry slipped out to the car while I took Luke shopping for Bryan's gift.  It was so fun.  What magic a 3 year old brings to Christmas.  He would go around point to something and say Nooooo, like it was a ridiculous item (when it was almost always something we would have liked)  In the end I got a fluted goblet, which I can drink any number of fancy drinks out of, and Bryan got a package of gummy krabby patties.  Then we went to Krispy Kreme after, definitely a new tradition.

Just a quick bit about another fun tradition.  This one is a bit more classic.  Temple square lights.  We love going, but find it hilarious how little Luke cares about the lights.  It is all about the waterfalls and the walls.  This year we had couins too...can't be beat.

oh yeah... I should do this.

Well I have obviously put this on the back burner.  I can't catch up but here are a few fun shots from at least that last couple of weeks or so.

We went to a spot right out of Luke's dreams.  The UP house!

It was so fun!  He had the most amazing reaction, he just stopped and starred it was amazing for him to see something out of his imagination/not reality actually meet his expectations.  Of course we had to prep him before hand that Mr. Fredrickson's house would not be floating.  They had done such an amazing job though, every detail was spot on!

Okay so I didn't get as much is an I hoped, but its a start ...but after Christmas I'll sneak some more in
