Another freelance assignment. This is the fourth year in row that I have been privileged to do a Christmas Card Illustration for 'Omniture'. Steve Gustavson is the Designer/Art Director on this one.

Here's a recently completed 'two page spread' freelance illustration for Tahitian Noni's International magazine called 'Tradewinds'. The Design on the left was created by none other than the great Shawn Hansen. Although this was a tight turnaround it was a lot of fun to do.

Another day of figure drawing. The model was deathly skinny, so it was more about getting the curve of the bones right and not the much needed curves a little fat adds.

Here's another Digital 'N.C. Wyeth' study. I was amazed at all of the color variation in his piece of which I tried to capture here. The other thing I learned in recreating this is how the purplely color in the clouds is really the same hue as the yellow/orange color only desaturated.

I recently finished these illustrations for a weekly paper in Reno called 'Reno News & Review'. The Larger one is the cover and the smaller 1/4 page illustrations ran on the inside. This was for their 'Best of Edition' which focused on things to do in Reno with such topics as 'Night Life, Green, Kids & Family, Fun & Gaming, Personalities, The Outdoors, Dining, etc.'

A really loose landscape study done for fun. This took about 30 min.

This is a digital study I did in about 45 minutes using Corel Painter. It's a detail from a 'Cornwell' painting.

Here's my feeble attempt at doing a 'Sparth' type of environment. He's so good.

This is a water bottle label that I created for Maverik's version of their 'Water for Sale'. I did the original sketch, it was then tightened up by Peter Sakievich and finished off by Myself and Blake Loosli. Although I think it's still going thru some more revisions.

Here's my painting of a Zombie Highlander which is one of the weekly 'Avalanche' challenges. The drawing is by none other than Joe Olson a fellow artist at Disney. I work there now as a concept artist and I am enjoying the company of such great artists.

Here's a little cover illustration for an article on "bigotry and resentment towards illegal immigrants" for Chico News and Review which is a local weekly paper in Chico California.

A quick Painter study created just for fun. The photo reference was found on a photographers website and I would giver her credit because she had really great work only I can't remember what her name was. Tehehehehe

A little character sketch inspired by the character design in the film 'Spiderwick Chronicles'. I also played with a technic on this piece that is so well demonstrated by the great Ryan Wood and Todd Harris over at Avalanche. Check out their sweet blogs!
