Greetings Citizens,
The folks at Zombie Nation told me to write something about Thanksgiving. They said, “Bub, make a list of what you’re thankful for.”
I love assignments like this. I have a lot to be thankful for, and I love Thanksgiving.
I also love making lists.
And now, for your enjoyment, I give you:
BUB’S THANKFUL THANKSGIVING LIST

A zombie turkey from "A Civic Dilemma" Blog!
1) I am thankful that I am a zombie. Most people, when they die, are dead. Not me! I get another chance to make things right, to succeed in death where I failed in life (which, coincidentally, was almost everything I tried).
2) I am thankful for pumpkins. They are incredibly funny and they work for both Halloween and Thanksgiving. I also like Jack Skellington.
3) I am thankful for cow brains. Thank you, Mr. (or Mrs.) Cow for giving me your brains, so that I may have feast upon them and, in return, not attack the editors at Zombie Nation (which I would never do).
4) I am thankful for slaughterhouse workers. These kind Americans work day and night (how do they manage to do that?) to make sure I constantly have a bucket of cow brains at my side. I wonder what it’s like to work in a slaughterhouse. I bet it would be really unpleasant. All that death around you, all day, every day. It’s kind of horrible, actually.
5) I am thankful that I don’t work at a slaughterhouse.
6) Last, but not least, I am thankful for the little things. Paying attention to the little things is what makes (un)life truly (un)livable. For example:
a) My legs still work (and haven’t fallen off in weeks).
b) My teeth are still in my skull (most of the time).
c) My breath no longer smells like a toilet.
d) I’m sure there are other examples….
So there you have it, folks. The things that I, Bub Romero, am thankful for.
Happy Thanksgiving (and Yours),
-Bub Romero.
P.S. I just thought of another “little thing”!
e) My fingers are still able to type out “What I am Thankful for” lists (as a side note, I am also thankful to Super-Glue).
